Had ordered a top from shein but it was too small. Followed your tutorial and the results were AMAZING. This should work great for a formal gown that needed a solutionIt! It is black with a large floral pattern in various shades of blue! I’m excited to present this idea to her. I plan on also asking the seamstress if a triangle of double layered black, stretch tulle can be sewn into the “open V” so as to not have bare skin exposed to the blue laced ribbon ? I figured this might be a solution for those that request &/or require more modesty?! Looking forward to watching more of your videos ❣️

I am not a fan of alterations and as you may also run into this as any selfish sewist or an all around professionally seamstress, when people know you sew, they always want you to hem or take in their garments. I finally became comfortable telling people I don't sew for others without guilt. WELL a very dear friend asked if I could increase the width of a dress she is the maid of honor for a wedding she is in a week from now 😭😭😭😭. I cannot say no as I know her options to get a seamstress this soon to fix her dress in this late of a notice is nearly impossible due to the current season. Because of your SUPER EASY instructions (so detailed), I can adjust her dress for her. Thank YOU for this. Additionally, I am now thinking of some of my dresses I can do this to as well. This was such a great video, thank you! I found it from searching for ways to make a dress bigger. I have a black floral dress I want to salvage. However, the only thing putting me off the grommets/lace up back, is that I'm very busty and have to wear a bra, so any kind of back-less design just doesn't work for me. Is there another way I can use this tutorial to insert a panel, or perhaps would it work to do this but also insert some lace beneath it to fill the gap, if that makes sense?

Would this work on a vintage silk organza wedding dress? I’m trying to make alterations to my mom and grandmas old dress so I can wear it to the rehearsal dinner and surprise them.. but I don’t have the time or money to hire a professional. And it doesn’t close in the back :( I have to wash it to get out the yellowing and then try to do this to the back. But I don’t know if the material will allow it

Oh no!!! Really?! There are lots of different types of grommets. Be sure to use ones that have a back to them.
