How to make a floating necklace 😄
You will need .18mm /.046 mm -49 wire from ​⁠‪@beadalon‬ brand
Assorted beads in smaller sizes or lightweight. I am using 8 mm faceted rondelles lapis lazuli beads from ​⁠‪@tejasbeads‬ -# 96515150
3/4 mm spacer beads ( you want to make sure you have about a 1-1.5 mm center hole that way you can slide the wire through it twice but it is also a small enough hole to stay on the two wires without sliding up and down. It’s to act as a placer bead to hold everything in place. OR you can crimp the beads in place. Use a #1 crimp from @beadalon and crimp closed in between the beads and have them float on the wire.
Clamshell bead tips
Directions:
Add a bead ( 8 mm Rondelle) on one wire, slide both wires through the center of spacer bead, add another stone on the other wire side, bring both wires together & add spacer bead in the center, add another stone on the opposite wire, add spacer bead. Continue this pattern and until you’ve reached the desired length of your necklace. Leave an inch of wire and slide through clamshell bead tip. Add crimp bead, crimp closed and cut off excess wire. Slide up clamshell bead tip, press together and add jump ring, and lobster clasp. When using the clamshell open the shell, slide the wire (s) through the center hole up through the bottom, add crimp bead, cutt off excess cording, slide up shell and press closed. Add jump ring.
and you’ve made a floaty necklace!
