Thanks!! Now that you've shown me this method, it will be so much easier than drawing in the furniture and erasing it every time I want to change its position! Just never thought of this.

Wonderful explanation! Thank you for showing the layout drawing process in such a simple way. This is incredibly helpful for someone like me who wants to try a self-designof my own home before handing it over to an interior designer.

How do you scale round furniture?
@user-ei8rb7sj6c3 ай бұрын
First of all, I’m learning just like you. I really have to think hard when it comes to math, as it doesn’t come easily for me. But here’s how I did it: First, I measured a round ottoman from edge to edge across the middle of the top. This gave me a diameter of 24”. Using her scale of one box = 6”, I drew a square on a sheet of graph paper outlining four boxes on each side. (Four x 6” per box = 24”). Then I cut out the square, and folded it in half twice. Then I cut a half circle away off of the square from one free edge corner to the other. When I unfolded it, I had a circle with 4 diagonal boxes inside, representing 24” in diameter. Please leave a comment to let me know if this example was easy to follow or not. And, if anyone knows of an easier way, please comment! We’re all here trying to learn and help each other on KZbin! Thanks!

What if u have a wall @ 15' 9" how do u do this at scale . I know each 1/4 inch square is a foot how do I do the 9" on the grid paper?
@TessieFayDesign Жыл бұрын
You would just fill in 3/4 of the last box! So 15 boxes plus 3/4 of the 16th box :)

Hi Valentine! I'm happy to help. In the example above each square on my grid paper represented 6 inches... so that would mean that 1 foot would be 2 boxes (6 inches for 6 inches). So if I'm measuring 15 feet that would equal 30 boxes :)
