how many ounces of both the mold max and flex foam was used for this video?
@bluebeast44010 ай бұрын
I know sales are important, but holy cow, was that about 4+ gallons used of moldstar?? In today's price, that's like a $400 mold :O

This is one way to make the mold. You can go about this process in a number of different ways. There are always a number of different factors to take into account when determining how to make a mold. In this video Milo discusses different mold making techniques. kzbin.info/www/bejne/imKxf4yipZ2jsNU&lc=UgzdXSxkxWw2346DYO14AaABAg

How thick is the Urecoat? How many layers did you do? If you were to do a sword all in one color, would you have used Flex-Foam-it 17 because of the self skinning? Or is that not as durable?
@smoothon5 жыл бұрын
It is a single layer of UreCoat everywhere. Even in a thin layer UreCoat would be much much stronger than Flex-Foam-it 17.

Is this foam too hard for actual larp combat?
@smoothon4 жыл бұрын
It would depend on the dimensions of the piece. We have many densities of foam available.
@thosethree11112 жыл бұрын
I was advised flex foam 15 for larp weapons by local shop
@hanelyp1 Жыл бұрын
For LARP combat I'd want a stiffer core, a lot of wiggle visible on video. And better means to prevent the core end from digging through the foam.

What material was that support bar you used in the middle?

That is a fiberglass support rod.

Can you please tell me if the foam gets hot to cure? I'd like to use it on a 3d printed mold directly if I could (using pla, 50c60c is the temp I need to stay under)
@smoothon5 жыл бұрын
It does get slightly warm.

@@smoothon Ty! I called yesterday and the person told me about 90 degrees on the foam. I was also wrong about a product, said oomoo 30 instead of ecoflex 0030, etc... Like I suggesting to him, it would be awesome to have maximum temperature of cure listed by thickness (if needed) in the pdf documents (which should be included in the product package please). If people don't know then they either fear buying or worse, have a back experience for the medium they are working with.

Fancy 3d printer :) I Gotta Say that Urecoat is really hard to paint. Cast magic Works well but you wont get that realistic metal shine.
@HorrorFXDesigns5 жыл бұрын
All for the low low cost of about $4-500 in materials. Who doesn't want a $500 foam sword.
