Question with my hdpe mortar racks. I’ve had them for 3 years now and they seem to be getting tight at the bottom is that normal ? Bigger canister shells aren’t going down smoothly
@CodyBPyrotechnics3 жыл бұрын
@@Pyro_783 it could be warping from the heat exposure over time. This can happen, to avoid it make sure not to load a ton of shells into just one of the tubes in the rack. Try dispersing them among the whole rack

I've never seen a blowout, but I always cinch a 2" cargo strap around the outside to minimize that possibility. If you were really concerned, you could cut some plywood panels to line the crate at the expense of a couple of tubes.

Cody I do the same as you except I add a 12"x12" piece of 1/2" or 3/4" plywood to the inside bottom of the milk crate, if you are on grass or slightly unlevel surface the tubes will bounce out when they fire. With the plywood in the bottom I've never had this happen. 👍👍 P.S. when you get to 1 million subs I will help you get canister shells.

I usually just run them over a table saw and take about an inch off of two opposing edges, then build them into a wooden rack. Smacking off the base can mess with the integrity of the plug and milk crates sometimes cause mortars to 'trampoline'. I'm with you though...... if its for free..... it's for me

I’ve blown up my fair share of mortars but I can say at least 2 of them complete detonated in the tube itself. The whole tube completely broke. I believe one was a mortar and the other was an artillery shell. Definitely can happen so I’d be careful using the crate. Stay safe

I just wanna know how long a tube is sopposed to last. I got some odd ball "mini shells" last year but the tubes broke . So i may have to look into getting some kind of rack. There about half the size of regular ball shells so no tube ive got would work.

i just bought some fireworks from Phantom this past 4th of July. I did notice the tubes that came with the Excalibur (the black ones with thicker bases) are a different length and diameter than the ones i bought that were "Lock and Load" and "Barely Legal" mortars. i tried shooting one of the Lock and loads out of the excalibur tube and it didn't go as high in the air. I am sure certain mortars work best with certain tubes correct?
