In this tutorial, I'll show you how to make branching RPG-style dialogue and add it to any scratch project! You can use for an open world game, life sim, visual novel, or really anything you want.

Probably options than answers because if we put answers it needs to be the exact one but If we have options we can just choose. Orrrrr you can teach us to make a text engine

you can also use the join and letter blocks to make it look like other famous RPG games

I am beginning a video game club at the elementary school where I teach. These tutorials are the best because you explain in a simple manner every step of the way. Perfect for beginners! Well, 2 weeks into the club, Orange county public school just blocked access to scratch from all their devices. Even teacher's devices! I am writing emails left and right to get it unblocked. Until then, the adventures of Navy the alligator will have to wait. I guess I can work on the sprites and tiles on a different program for now. @@Zinnea

Oh shoot. That's awful. I really hope you're able to get through to them. I was trying to find a way you could use the scratch editor for your club without being on the scratch domain - and I remembered that Google CSFirst has their own version of the scratch editor here: csfirst.withgoogle.com/project/editor. (I just clicked 'continue without signing in.') Does that work? If not, let me know. Navy the alligator deserves to have adventures, darn it!

I Reccomend Adding Choose Options, Because When Player Will Type Something Else Than "Yes" Or "No", Like "Not Much" He'll Not Say Anything. Instead You Can Add Buttons "Yes" And "No", So Player Will Have To Choose An Option. Also Love Ur Videos

Maybe like instead make it so the player can say more than yes because then the player might say like yes Ofc I do and he will you know get suspicious so and number 2 maybe just use the if answer contains block instead that makes it a bit easier

Hi! Quick question, when I put "Yes" for if she says "Yes" then say something like "That's what I thought", when I put for example "Yes" with an exclamation mark it says "I thought you did like ice cream." How do you make it say something like "Cool you like ice cream" but in different ways of saying "Yes"? (I would be very thankful if you told me but you don't have to if you don't want to.)

Oh that's a great question. You can go to the "operators" category and get an "or" block, and you can put that in the "if" block -- so you can say "if answer = "yes" or answer equals "Yes!" , have her say "that's what I thought." And you can actually put "or" blocks inside each other, so you could say "if answer = "yes" or answer = "yes" or answer = "yes!!", " etc Let me know if that helps! :D
