Really great tutorial má. I was just wondering: is there a way to make a basque effect on a gown with equal dress length round about? What I mean to say is: is there a way to have the gathered part (that's the 15" gathers in your case) be of equal length instead of the high-low effect that it takes in this video? From an inquisitive follower.

It can be achieved by increasing the length of your gathers, and cutting to desires length after joining the gathers to the upper part before helming.

@@idahcharity3115 actually, I've gotten an easier way. Get your regular skirt pattern (that's waist to hemline). Take the basque effect and cut it out on your skirt pattern. Slash and spread the skirt pattern to get the gathers. Simple.
