A Grasshopper cocktail is a sweet and creamy cocktail that's often served as a dessert drink. It typically contains equal parts of green crème de menthe, white crème de cacao, and cream, shaken with ice and strained into a glass. Here’s the recipe:
1. Chill 2 martini glasses in the freezer for 30 minutes before serving.
2. In a blender, combine 16 oz vanilla ice cream, 1 oz heavy cream or half-and-half, 1 ½ oz crème de menthe, and 1 oz crème de cacao, and blend until smooth but still cold.
3. Using a microplane or fine grater, grate ½ oz unsweetened chocolate onto a plate. Using a wet, clean cloth, wipe around the rims of the martini glasses. Turn the glasses upside down and rotate the rims in the grated chocolate.
4. Divide the Grasshopper evenly between the martini glasses.
5. Garnish with a dollop of whipped cream, a chocolate hazelnut Pirouette cookie, a sprig of mint, and a little more grated unsweetened chocolate over the top.
