This video made me cry. My mom and grandma ( RIP) would make this for me when o was a kid. I loved it. And at the end of your video the Haitian music playing in the background made me feel I was a child again with my parents and grandma alive l. Great video. My son loves oatmeal. I’m going to make him this Haitian version tomorrow. Thank you.

When I make my version, I always roasted the banana in an air-fry for 2-5 mins. and blend them with carnation milk add some oatmeal. Put in a pot with water and oatmeal. The blend roasted banana, oatmeal, and carnation are for sugar and it thickens.

This looks so tasty! Like a dessert. Not like the sad oatmeal I've been eating for breakfast. (OK, it's not sad, but now that I've seen this....) I've been trying to cut back on the dairy, but this looks so good. And I never thought about coconut milk. Will try it. Thank you for sharing.

How long do you soak the oats? And also what’s the measurement of the evaporated milk and coconut milk?
@dorannette264 жыл бұрын
Claire J ... I don’t use measurements, just add enough water to cook the oatmeal for about 10 minutes. I used half of the evaporated milk and about 1 cup of coconut milk. Keep in mind! I made enough for two servings. .I soaked it for about 15 minutes. Keep in mind, Soaking helps to soften it. That’s why I don’t blend it, but in my opinion if you were going to blend it there is no need to soak it
