Thanks Scott, so helpful! glad people like yourself take the time to share your skills and knowledge. figure if i can make one of these well, I could tackle any Roman. Be great If you could explain how to add a backing lining? here in the UK , we would have to enclose the tapes, for CS regs. Ans some how add breakaways to the strings. But as you said at the very beginning, there are no videos on this hobbled fold subject. Thanks again great informative tutorial

Hello! I think if you watch “how to make a Hobbled Roman Shade” (part 2 ) you will get a good idea on how to add the lining. Here in the states the laws has also changed for large manufacturers, the lift cords have to be covered with a shroud covering which actually doesn’t stop a strangulation but may be more comfortable around the neck! I’m not sure how we grew up and survived all these years!!!

Hello again Scott. I am about to make 3 matching hobbled as per your fantastic instructions. a question: You use 5 inch folds, is there a limit to bigger folds? or 8 inch, same principles , double the fabric length. Thanks and regards
@Factorydirectdesignersworkroom8 ай бұрын
Same principles you will just have less folds. Good luck!

Hi there can this blind be made for window 2m wide?
@cassidylowe80555 жыл бұрын
How do you determine the amount of folds that look best on a window?
@pamelakenney44963 жыл бұрын
You give the measures for the tapes but for the fabric you forgot to add the amount needed for the board mount.

Is that harder to make if the window is 72 in WIDTH and 31 in TALL?? I'm so confused. ALL of the shades I see being made are all TALL, skinny windows. Maybe it doesn't look as good on a window like mine with the pleats??? Maybe I should just make a flat 'roman shade'. ??? Especially since I don't really know what I'm doing. lol o_O Now I've got all that material I just purchased..... :(

Confusing too many mistakes in his tutorial. Reverses what he says and then the stars in my eyes rotates.
