go 2 an art store and get a T- square, Exacto knife, a good tape measure, and a glue gun The windows design can come from a draftsmen template. hope this helps. Cheers

It's pretty simple, just take another piece of cardboard and cut it to fit the shape of whatever side cardboard your mounting and make your shape of the mounts, if that's not confusing.

you can use clay to put on the cardboard. once dried it makes it more solid. did this for my cat

MrSoftwizard - they might need stairs when they get old or if they are recovering from surgery or illness. I've even made steps up to the bed for such cases, and the bed is really low already (on a futon frame). A healthy young cat will be able to jump with no trouble, of course. But it helps to think ahead sometimes, then the cat can still get up to favorite perches.

I had a question. :) I saw that you reinforced the ceilings of the boxes in 3 different ways. In one, you reinforced the corners. In the others you did an X. Is there a reason to use a different method in each box? Are they each stronger in different circumstances?

I think the ones that he did an x for are to hold more weight which means they would be the two on the left side, where the cat will lay and be most of the time. The one that is just the corners is the step rest, so it's not meant to hold weight for a long period of time. But essentially you can reinforce them all with the X for a stronger hold
