A little trick is instead of trying to fold it in the press pull it out of the toaster oven and staple it together real close to the edge. This will make a pocket for you to slip the firearm in. Then you can just press it an fuss with it less. I also switched from using a toaster oven to using an electric pancake grill.

Just an idea If you use the Chicago screw with a spacer instead of the rivet you could just tighten the screw for more or less retention
@TheGunSnob6 жыл бұрын
Yeah I use that occasionally but for the most part I just use the heat gun to adjust the retention if I was making one for someone else I probably would use a screw with spacers so they could adjust to their liking

Something else you might like is they make a plastic deburring tool you can by them from KBC tools.

How do you get the retention on a pistol with mounted light?
@TheGunSnob4 жыл бұрын
The easiest way I have found is to get the retention around the light as they normally stick out past the trigger guard

The quick thumbnail the holsters looked factory made. Lol. Anyways I watched both vids you made on this process. This is great information. Personally I think building a vacuum table and a heat press would be much better.

I have upgraded to a heat press and I would like a vacuum table just haven’t messed with that yet

Hi, how exactly is the type of tape called you are using for the preparation? And if you have time for the long version: what kind of tape can be used (and removed without problems after getting heat and pressure from the kydex) for kydex-preparations, and what kind of tape should be avoided?
@TheGunSnob6 жыл бұрын
I just use the 3m blue painters tape not sure exactly what one but is the better quality one and have never had any issues removing it. That is the only one I have ever used I probably wouldn’t use just regular masking tape it might be tough to get off.
