I've actually switched to the Eco-Flow Waterstain dye. No odor, and in my opinion, a superior final dye agent. It even has some light wax and in some applications, doesn't need a finish such as Resoline. I have made pen sleeves in many different ways and I've migrated to either nothing on the inside or just a coat of Tan-Kote. I find I like the contrast on colors. Great video, thank's for sharing it. I find I often pick up tips from watching other makers do products.

I typically use saddle soap and then a coat of beeswax for edge burnishing prep. That works well also.

Great video. Thanks! Is there a formula as to how big to cut the leather for a particular project? Your pen case, for example...how to you figure how big to make the piece of leather so the pen will fit? Perhaps there is a web site that explains that?

Good question. I don't know the answer to that except to say that I had to draft a few test pieces before being happy with the size for this type of pen.

l got a set of metal alphabet stamps from an online auction. l just line them up, wrap some painter's tape around them and then press into the leather with an arbor press.

Frankly, it is just one piece of leather (14cm x 6.5cm) which you just curve as shown in the video.

tokonole is nothing like PVA glue. What are you even talking about. It might smell like white glue but it is made up of completely different ingredients.
