They don’t have to have a big field to land a big airship. They could simply have it, hovering low and throw a rope ladder over the side for you to climb down to the ground.

Yeah the developers are over thinking the airship. Just let us rappel to the ground, also landing the airship constantly would slow down the pacing too much. Better for us to seamlessly enter and exit it in motion. Let’s see if the devs figure it out.

How about using a rope to descend and ascend from/to the Highwind? No need to land it entirely. Player press a button from the deck of the Highwind and a small cutscene shows the team jumping down with the use of a rope. Then the player press another button on land to call the Highwind, a cutscene shows a rope is thrown down, and the party climb back up on deck.

I can imagine the emerald weapon fight at the botton of the ocean taking place within a huge whirlpool where the ocean floor is dry and there are massive walls of swirling water acting as the boudaries of the arena. Visually speaking it could be similar to that one fight with Barnabas in 16

The frustrating thing is, as much as everyone would love to see Emerald and Ruby fights in Remake 3, they were completely optional superbosses in the original. But FF7 has become so iconic that heads will roll if they don't make a key appearance in some fashion. I'd just like to point out that square has A LOT of work ahead of them and that they really deserve nothing but praise for this entire trilogy so far.

They do have a lot of work but this is also the last game. This is the game people will probably play the most. They should take all the time they need and go all out imo. I don’t doubt them, I think part 3 will be way better than rebirth.

Maybe they can add dedicated landing spots like with MGSV’s helicopter. The player could get as close as possible manually, then a prompt would show and then the very last part would line it up automatically.

Dealing with landing the airship is easy... just do what they did when you went to crater. Airship hovers, drops a rope ladder. Boom. Problem solved.

Its all kind of DLC at this point for the third part. They have so many systems locked in. So i think theyll be able to pull off all the Weapons, highwind, extra characters, and everything no problem.

I think they use the air ship with an anchor. It technically it wouldn’t land, it could just hover to let you out. I would be ok with it “disappearing” from view as you play or flying away so you can call it like you did with the tiny bronco. You’d just set a beacon anywhere on the world map.

Cloud different voices and swithching characters are great ideas. I think they NEED to make the players fall in love with Cloud after the llifestreaam sequence. The players are going to complain a lot about the pre-crater part where Cloud's character will be more of the same as what they saw in part 2. I hope they do him justice.

Great vidjya. Couple things: 1. Back on the ol' Dreamcast, "Skies of Arcadia", IMO, did the "Airship Travel" thing perfectly, on the Delphinus and the Little Jack. Add weather, better graphics / landscape, more creature / environment interactions, and perhaps small action -OR- sky-battle-system fights, and FF7C's Air Travel will be perfect. 2. No need to "Land anywhere"; Predetermined landing spots / areas are just fine; also makes sense with an airship that large. Or, as the other guy below said, you can just fly off w/ a golden chocobo and the ship will auto-fly to the nearest base, or hover-where-it-is so you can return to it. 3. What's the piano-heavy song that starts at <a href="#" class="seekto" data-time="867">14:27</a>? 4. Got a wee bit emotional watching this video: Made me realize how precious and potentially fragile this next-level Culture that exists within / around the FF games & similar really is.... Feels like something in the world is eroding this culture aggressively. We need to act aggressively to sustain this culture, or I envision it being nearly weathered-to-nothing within the next 20 years :(

I really enjoyed this video NSP, switching between FF VII R3 discussion and assembling the gaming chair was cool!🤩 I so can't wait to see how the airship and flying mechanic is going to look in the final game. I think for part 3 we definitely need the highwind to land at all of the air strips and have more airstrips be in part 3, like one airstrip per region because landing where ever you want will be really hard, so I think we could land the highwind at airstrips instead.

I think the use of zip line would be perfect. The airship can stay flying up anywhere and the party coming down or up with the zip line. This would solve all the difficulties. When it comes to the Emerald underwater fight, they can come up with some explanation where the Weapon is inside a bubble where the fight take place. Getting the inspiration from One Piece fish-man island. And, imagine if they can make the chocobo racing and Queen's blood as multiplayer.

I think a potential solution for KotR would be to summon a single knight as the interactive element then have the full 13-knight attack as the final assault before being dismissed.

I think a change to the ultimate end should not affect the game in a negative if Zack and Aerith do end up living in another world. In the end they cannot please everyone and they should just go ahead with their plans.

I’ll add one thing re: gameplay-would love to see the Summon system overhauled. Have the choice and use of Summons be more strategic and integrated into building your character/party loadout. Each summon needs to have its own unique distinctive features/abilities, beyond just elemental/non-elemental damage and small stat buffs. Phoenix was a step in the right direction. Also, allow multiple equippable summon slots, especially if they keep growing the roster of available summons!

This game, and the remakes as a whole, will definitely be remembered though not in the way that you think. It will be remembered for the convoluted mess of a story that it is, the mind numbing Ubisoft open world, not to mention the way it alters the story of FF7. It will be remembered for how it failed to live up to what fans were asking for long before the games came out, a faithful remake of the original story. The mini games were definitely a bad thing when they get in the way of the progression of the story. Having to get beach wear for 3 different characters just so you can progress, or throwing boxes for no reason gets in the way of progression. They added nothing meaningful, no purpose other than existing. That is not good. Fun is subjective. The additional rules of Triple Triad were not that bad. Try explaining Tetra Master and how that works. You can at least follow Triple Triad and get good at it. Speaking of the lifestream sequence and Mideel, we already had the revelation of what happened when Tifa fell from the bridge in Rebirth. We already had a lifestream sequence with Tifa. So are you telling me we are just going to do it again but this time it's Cloud? Is Tifa going to have another lifestream sequence? So we are going to pull this card twice? The developers have already made significant changes to the core story of FF7. They have been doing that for years with the compilation. They did that with Remake. They made even more changes with Rebirth. Whether this is a Remake or a Sequel, what it is NOT is the same story. Rebirth was not in any way faithful. It might have followed the same story beats as the original but the very context and meaning behind those things is completely different. How can you say that it is faithful when Aerith is still hanging around as a ghost talking to Cloud or showing up to fight Sephiroth? It completely misses the point of why Aerith was killed off and why it even worked in the first place. If FF7, the original FF7, is about the exploration of life and death and dealing with loss, how does Aerith as a force ghost, or killing Barret just to resurrect him right after, or bringing back Zack play into those themes? It doesn't.

For swapping party members during combat I think the characters could each have a special move for either entering or exiting the battle to make it a bit more dynamic, perhaps some can tag out with a special move like yuffie throwing a smoke bomb and disappearing while casting blind, Cids could be that he tags in with jump. A party switch bar then needs to build again before the next swap move. That’s a way I could see it working anyway. It could also have a relationship with synergy mechanics or even be a method of escaping grabs with certain characters, Yuffie Vincent and cait sith could be escapers and the rest could be attackers for example or maybe Cid can do both as one of his talents as a dragoon type.

My hopes are they do a definitive edition when its all over. With the ability to turn off anything to do with the whispers and to play essentially the OG. It would take some work for sure, but I think they would be able to cut scene or have them revoice certain scenes so you basically get 2 games in 1. Also, having streamline leveling thru the entire game.

The Highwind will be used to enable quick vertical changes in moment-to-moment gameplay. Imagine something like Tears of the Kingdom's falling/rising sky blocks.

I thought maybe the airship would be integral to the Kaiju fights. Have the crew on the deck, launching the melee characters onto the kaiju to fight suspended in the air, while the ranged crew chill on the deck. Bahamut Sin vibes is what I’m thinkin’

Hey NSP love your videos. Always full of knowledge and information like you showing how to put the DXRacer chair together pretty sure that's helpful to a lot of people although I don't think I would get one, I am just not that handy even with a guide LOL. OK so I have always love the idea of the character swapping thing in battle and was hoping it would be in this game but honestly the more I think about it or just look at the over all picture of it, to me it's gonna look a little weird. Like are they gonna have Barret tag Tifa and be like "hey you are up" and then we see her run into battle while we see her waiting on the side. I think it worked with FF10 cause we didn't see the other characters in battle. I think maybe it could work if they have that character do some kind of move to seamlessly have them enter battle as oppose to seeing them running in and out of battle. With the highwind I think they could do what they did with the tiny bronco. They could do this thing where they allow us players to switch views on how you see where you are travelling and also see the highwind. As for the landing maybe they could have this thing where they indicate that you can land here or there and that parts that have no place to land they could use a ladder like at the Northern Crater in the og. One thing we can all agree they most certainly have their work cut out for them, I don't envy them one bit LOL. I mean we got under water fight, weapons fighting on the highwind, fighting the weapons in general, the submarine, Knights of the round (how will they handle this really are we gonna fight them one on one with some having small HP while the stronger ones have more HP or will this be a huge ass side quest like Gilgamesh LOL). OK I have ramble on enough LOL.

I didn't like Red XIII/Nanaki's voice change and still don't understand the reason for it, but that's indeed a nice touch to record both voices for when they're appropriate in the game.... The Spider-Man games also do this for phone calls during calm and stressed moments

I believe they'll have the Emerald Weapon fight in a MASSIVE Under water cave or something. Where Emerald will try to flood them out. I want Weapons to be truly giant. Like going up against Godzilla Gundams. Something similar to Shadow of the Colossus fights.

KOTR should be a 13 part side quest where you collect each knight. Then maybe to use it, it replaces the party and you get more of an ff15 Ekon type fight or something. I. Sure they got lots of ideas

i'd prefer the world map old school but uhd nice and all, with a cutscene to land in landable places; they could design a beautiful stylish world map that would save time and ressources for deeper stuff to do, like good well written side quests about important characters, instead of tons of useless mini-games, but keep queen's blood, sure, it's great :)

If I’m being honest I don’t think there’s anything that would get me excited for the Re-trilogy at this point. They botched two of my favorite scenes from the origInal game (trail of blood and _that_ scene at the end of disk 1). Honestly I don’t understand why they went in the direction they did. I thought the original story was a timeless classic. Why change it?

Also that bit about party swaping and loadouts need to happen. At least one or the other (although I can't see why both can't exactly happen) because constantly trying to micromange switching in and out material was eventually a pain in the ass. A step up from Remake, but I want to see this area improve especially in Part 3.

I would remove the remnawave system completely or make all objectives (or part) discoverable the same way Tears Of The Kingdom did with the shrine detector. And as for the airship discoverable places, it needs variety to be rememberable: an entrance on top of a mountain / a far off small island / a dimension portal found in the sky etc. I don't think it's necessary to always have a large space to land the ship on, it should be possible to paraglide from the airship to a target place - this is a chance for some core world minigame mechanic like the collection of chocograss in Niebleheim while paragliding (we already saw how this could be possible with the Shinra troopers landing in Kalm)

The answer to this question is simple: You make sure that at the end of this game, Aerith's consciousness has faded away, meaning that their spiritual energy has truly returned to the planet, and that goes for Zack, too. In order for the end to leave a meaningful impact on the player, I would make sure that they sacrifice even their spiritual existence to help save the planet and stop Sephiroth. Imagine if this whole time we have been concerned with whether they are physically dead it turns out that there true death scene is a spiritual one. That would be great writing imo

@@kaylee42900 AC was originally supposed to be just a brief epilogue for Cloud and Tifa, that was the basic idea of it but SE corporate feared that it would tank without action and drama so that basic idea became a complicated mess. I would love it if at the end of part 3 we get the small little epilogue that Nojima originally had in mind.

I've been really enjoying the Remake trilogy so far, but if I'm being honest, the messy and confusing nature of the mysteries they've introduced combined with comments that they won't be changing the "core story" of FFVII, worries me. Mainly because I'm concerned we'll get to the end, and all these extra elements to the narrative will either fall flat or ultimately have no meaning. In my opinion, if they're doing all this setup, they need to have the guts to follow through and actually give us something new that is MEANINGFUL. I'm afraid they're trying to have it both ways in order to keep us guessing but then won't actually have anything new or significant to add in the end. And if that's the case, they should have just done a more faithful remake. Don't get me wrong. I'm not inherently against changes to the story. I like the idea of keeping things fresh and reimagining certain aspects of the narrative and characters. But you can't just do it for no reason. You can't just do it to create speculation and mystery without actually having anything new to say about the characters and story and themes. Obviously, it's too early to say for certain and I'm sure I'll enjoy the journey regardless, but I'm genuinely concerned that's the direction this is headed. I hope I'm wrong though and that everything will click into place in a satisfying way.

I don’t like the idea of active character swaps. At this point the game is easy enough with out being able to swap in a fresh character. Leave the battle system as it is. Add in triple attacks and that’s it. Rebirth combat was perfect. KOTR can be done by summoning just one main knight the final one with the cape to fight along side you and then when the summon is over and the knight leaves then have all 13 attacks. Rocket town will be in part 3 and possibly the jumping off point. Though I could see Wutau being that since they can have all your materia from Rebirth get stolen by Yuffie. What I want to know is how they are going to handle ultimate weapons. I think each “cinematic” weapon like the Buster Sword should have something special that makes it usable in any mode at any time. Like they did with Rebirth and I wish they did the same with Remake. But in the first two games the last weapons had the most initial materia slots but not the strongest. In part 3 they are ultimate weapons so I want to see that balance.

I would really like it if those with a Rebirth save file would not need to reactivate any world towers they already activated in Rebirth when part 3 comes out.

FF7 rebirth combat Torn apart between "combo hardcore" or "Strategy hardcore" That why on system and fun level it 9-9.8 /10 But Combo side it not shine above DMC, bayonatta , etc On Strategy side it also not shine above Monter hunter, persona They should create class mage go full turn base And Class hero go full action combo Instead of mix system but action system with mage class turn-base Strategy With that way combo can go full hardcore and Strategy can go full hardcore Strategy too (And add mix class exsample red-mage that turn-base but can do SOME action combo)

KOTR should operate separately from the other summons thus far. They should not be on screen in real time like Ifrit or Shiva as I really do believe that would be too much to ask. Just make a cool cutscene play out like the OG, they do their damage and then leave.

The only bad thing about this game IMO was Bizarro Sephiroth's boss fight. To me, that was one of the worst boss battles I've ever played, unfortunately, because I was loving the game till there. Jenova's boss fight was amazing, but Sephiroth's battle was weak in every aspect I can think about, from gameplay to OST. Other than that, I don't think the game had any major flaws that bothered me and yeah, it is my GOTY for sure

In regards to Knights of the round that crap has got to have a game of death style either working down towards King Arthur or working up towards King Arthur on round Island if it’s some lame get them without a fight situation or something lame I’m gonna be mad, I will play the game love it, and by the collectors edition now matter what… haha but really hope kotr is done well. I’d be happy with them just coming in for a summon attack and then leaving too. I don’t think they can get all 13 knights swinging away.

I liked the way you incorporated the chair segment into your video, I usual don't like those things but I wanted to let you know I thought it was well done. As far as the Finale FF7R is concerned... I hope the Highwind has a pin point feature, like the player from the options can select 'landing mode' and then the player can move around a cursor from the bird's eye view point. If the cursor is red you can't land at that location but if it's green it's safe to land.

Great idea about quest completion for before and after Clouds transformation; that would be fantastic. My main hope is that we're playing the same map as the game starts, then once meteor is called or as a result of the Weapon attacks, every region starts breaking down and the entire map changes. With Chadley likely gone, no more towers and it's back to normal exploration, but now the actual summon deities have awoken and can be encountered in the wild. Crazy terrain changes mean multi-talent chocobos are going to be needed for insane traversal mechanics, making chocobo breeding necessary for the best and hardest to find rewards. When the map changes, the corrupted lifestream spews out of the ground and corrupts monsters, making some insane hunts. Cids gameplay will probably be fairly straightforward, but I think Vincent's should take a page out of Clive's FFXVI playbook and his weapon abilities are his limit attacks from OG, like briefly taking their form instead of doing a full transition, which would still be full limit breaks. He could then become a long range elemental user like yuffie with some wild physical attacks (chainsaw, anyone?). I imagine tri-atracks are coming but considering the sheer number of team combinations with 8 party members (9 if we include Zack), thats a pretty hefty number.

They should make some summon is playable while others just attack once at dissappear like org game. So we can use more summons in a battle :P 1 summon per character is........ And in part 3 they should character swap during battle like FFX on the cost of 1 atb. Cant make it to easy.

I feel like what theyre doing with Zack is going to relate to what comes after the main story. Potentially something related to dirge of Cerberus and Advent Children. That's my theory atleast because Zack did appear through the life stream in AC so i bet he'll play a bigger role

So far, I'm loving the Remake project. I'm really enjoying the new twists and turns. Especially since they work without significantly altering the plot. Sticking the landing on the 3rd game is actually the highest bar Square-Enix could have set for themselves. If they fumble it, it proves all the naysayers right. But if they can nail it, I think it could justify everything they've done in the first 2 games. They might even change a few minds. Again, that's if they nail it. I'm down for the ride, though, and I hate that 2027 is an optimistic length of wait for this game. Realistically, based on the expected size of the game, I'm thinking 2029 is more likely.
