Love the phone charger in a matchbox tip - very useful. We don't have load shedding here, but we do have regular power outages, usually just as I'm about to charge my phone!

You should also add some snacks to your box, so you don't open the fridge as much. Beef jerky, wrapped candies, crackers, canned cheese, etc. are all good choices.

very handy tips. In Los Angeles we would call that an "earthquake preparedness kit" But you have to be careful with the candles because of all the natural gas leaks.

I would suggest invetlsting in an inverter to power lights and tv. Then a power bank to charge devices. Then a two plate gas plate for cooking or heating food. Then a solar geyser. All quite costly but worth the investment...i think its only going to get worse
