AMAZED again! Finally got to see you switch over to a remote control unit to eliminate that ridiculous tether I saw in previous videos. This, my friend, is EVOLVEMENT at its finest. 1) If you wanted this "bogie robot" to operate forward/reverse, you should arrange the centrally mounted battery in a suspended cage. 2) I'd consider mounting all electronics underneath the chassis for protective measures. 3) I'd employ complete lateral symmetry. Make the front paired legs the same as the back by making this an 8-wheeled buggy. 4) Consider adding some suspension system with mini-shocks (you could design these yourself and probably will). 5) Extending the top cab portion would allow this to be useful as per a transport vehicle. 6) Ship a working model to NASA with a card reading: See, it doesn't take much engineering to make a cosmic buggy. Give me the $100 million contract and I get to keep what's left over or about $99,999.00 or so.

I have got to say that you are very creative. I have been looking at 3-D print plans for different rovers and thinking about the time required to print the needed components. Never occurred to me to use PVC. So quick - could assemble this in the time to print a single component. Great for quick prototyping. Much respect!
@brianbrewster65327 жыл бұрын
Hey - upon further analysis, I determined you could vastly improve the way you mount these wheels to your chassis. 1) Attach PVC tube that slips over motor and attach and upright facing PVC elbow to this. 2) From there, you join top of elbow to bottom leg of your chassis. Another improvement - to hide all your coiled black wiring. Simply solder these to the wheel motors BEFORE beginning assembly, and slip the wire inside cavity of all PVC tubing. My ideas would a) protect the motor from damage, b) keep the wires from being tangled into something that the underside of the chassis might come across, and c) prevent the notched pieces of PVC tubing (where you snaked a hose clamp through) from causing a catastrophic failure from being weakened. If the motors were run hard and showed signs of thermal warming, you could ventilate the PVC collar you slipped over them with tiny drill holes (1/16" or so). Maybe you could make Prototype # 2 of your Rocker Bogie Robot, sir, using some of these recommendations.

@premankitsenapaty67153 жыл бұрын
Actually on the side where there are 2 screws, the wheels of that side shall move with the centre chasis holding the transmitter and all and side having one screw shall act independently. Like if there is a terrain with one side up and other side low , the rover can move with out difficulties.
@premankitsenapaty67153 жыл бұрын
But if there are 1 screw on each side, then there is a high risk of the centre chasis holding the battery to flip.
@premankitsenapaty67153 жыл бұрын
In 5:19 you see, one side there is a concrete slab and the other side is low ground and due to that particular fitting of screws, it is able to move without difficulties.
