What if the town was originally called Respite, but through the evolution of language, it became Rest Pit, like how some people pronounce Respite with a short I, but also like a Pit Stop. It's a place to stop and rest. Ooh, on that note, an inn would be a good idea.

Funny story, I live in South Dakota, whose capital is named Pierre, obviously pronounced like the name, Pea-Air, presumably from when this state was part of the Louisiana Purchase, but the locals of the state pronounce it Peer, like a dock or to peer down at someone, and it irks me to no end. Literally the rest of the country pronounces it Pea-Air. Just listen to Wakko's States. Language is a funny thing.

Well done! In northern Maine in my childhood there was an old junk shop whose porch roof was a plane wing from a crash, so thank you for the lovely and strange memory. By the way, I am in the middle of making a post apocalyptic dollhouse! If, in fact, I exist.

I thought you were going to mention Liberty Tool (and the museum) in Maine. It's got more random bits and parts and nuts and bolts and most everything else, but I don't think there are any airplane wings, surprisingly. It's one of those hidden gems in the weird oddities of the world category. Very much like some kind of post apocalyptic trading post. But with a small stage and dance floor on the 3rd floor. The museum, across the street, is also a mix of tools and funky art, and is entirely unexpected in an otherwise sleepy rural part of Maine.

I always love hearing about lore. It's one of my favorite things to think of and everyone always has so many different ideas. You can take a general idea like "junk planet" and add so many little personal touches to it that it becomes entirely unique. So uh short answer is yes more lore please haha

Hey Bill, love your stuff. While watching I couldn't help but get reminded of the Jackals faction by One Page Rules. They similarly come from a rusty dusty planet and their short lore fits very well with some of your ideas where the Jackals salvaged an alien space ship that crashed on their home world.
