I worked at a beverage manufacturing company and one thing that I came away with. All floor space was very easily accessible for cleaning. Cabinets, equipment, etc was elevated 16" above floor level for easy cleaning. It made for keeping the area easy to keep clean. So I built platforms at least 12" high for any storage units, cabinets, etc that was adjacent to the wall. My tablesaw, joiner, & bandsaw or a regular floor level. I grouped all of my woodworking equipment in a centralize place with my dust collection unit for added benefit of minimal hose requirements. Works great. My miter station is also located in this area. It doesn't have to be against the wall. I also place things that I could on castors. Lots of good ideas out there, thinking outside of the box is ok too.

Great station! I'm honored to have contributed a few ideas to it. The adjustable saw tray has saved me a few times as I've swapped saws. And yep, got the grinder tray idea from Paul Jackman.

Nice. Thanks for not referring to it as “Ultimate”. You’ve combined some nice features. Thumbs up.

Hahaha! Maybe I should have done a “5 best miter saw stations” video! 😁😉

Just wondering about a metal grinder enclosure close to wood working/saw dust producing machines. No worries about hot bits catching something on fire?
@TarshaHomestead4 жыл бұрын
I think that’s a very valid concern. I haven’t had any such experience, but I have been considering lining that cabinet with sheet metal for that very reason. The grinder seems to chuck sparks right into the cabinet, so it at least is contained.

Nice station. Nicely done. I’m working on one myself. Similar to yours. Did you get yourself a track saw yet for breaking down those sheet goods?

I did, just a month or a two back, and what a game changer. I have actually moved since this shop and I have not built a new station in my new shop yet. I’m not yet sure what I want. One thing I no longer like from the station in this video is the fence. Rarely is wood already straight and it would causing binding.

Yes, bought a track saw a couple months ago and now I can do preliminary and accurate sheet breakdown in my garage. I agree that the fence idea is not good if cutting bowed boards. I elected to install a t-track in my top inline with the saw. It will also give me better room on the bench as I plan to put cabinets above the surface instead of on it. Have fun building your next station! Cheers! @@TarshaHomestead

🍻 pal! I think your approach with regard to the fence and the uppers is how I will do my next. Not that this station wasn’t great for me for many years but you live it for awhile and you learn from it. Always improving!

Hey man, I'm in the middle of building my miter station and also have the v2 Delta Cruzer. I was wondering how wide you made the miter saw section so that it allows for the saw to cut at a 45 in both directions? I'm hoping 30" will be enough space. Also wanted to add how horrible the dust collection is on the Cruzer. Coming from a Ryobi sliding miter saw, I noticed that all the dust from the Cruzer seems to shoot forwards towards you while cutting. Very annoying but I do love how smooth and accurate it is

I am away from home for a bit but I THINK I went with the width in the original plans. I made some additional covers for the front opening and the dust collection has been significantly better.

12:25. Why not have a second camera battery charged ready to replace?
@TarshaHomestead4 жыл бұрын
Ivan Horne that’s something I’m planning to fix. As of right now I only have one battery, but will be remedying that.
