Excellent video! Very clear directions. I hope to use it for making slippers for charity.

Very well made video. I'm not a beginner, but had never made a slipper pattern before. Thanks for a simple, easy-to-understand method for making a personal pattern. I plan to make fleece slippers with contrasting lining plus felt soles using the blanket stitch in contrasting thread. I like sewing with a machine, but appreciate projects that I can hand-sew while watching tv as well. This fits either bill nicely....

Yay! Thank you so much for sharing how to make the pattern. I've been struggling over that part (the band that goes around), because seams at the sides of my feet make blisters. The video detailing steps helps to understand the pattern more clearly. I'm glad to have come across your video. Thanks!

Thank you. Easy to understand. Only thing I would change is to secure that lining inside the slipper.

I love your simple approach. Any ideas of how to convert an old pair of flip-flops into house shoes?

Thank you so much for your valuable lesson on doing this kind of slippers. I am new to sewing but, you made it so simple!! Thank you very much!! You are amazing.

Thank you so much. Every tutorial here and on pinterest seem to always leave out just one detail. You have covered it all...and like you say...very simply. I really want to try this, but its amazing how long it can take you to just cover the first base...lol.

The dark linings make it difficult to see how you sewed them, but I will scrutinize it over and over. Thanks for sharing. ;-)

You could add a few bits of silicone sealer, or rubber based glue and allow it to dry. The slippers in the video have soles made from wool and are remarkably non-slippy, but leather (real or fake) is also a good choice for the soles

How very cute! I could make some in various sizes and keep them for visitors who forget to bring their own slippers. How can I be sure children's slippers would be non slip?

what kind of soles did you use and where can I buy it for my self
@simplesewing11 жыл бұрын
In the video I used wool, like felt, the sort you would have a winter coat out of. You can buy it at most fabric shops. Or recycle something in your wardrobe!

I am lost on the measurement of the upper portion. Do you have the instructions in writing? Pausing the video isn't working for me, sadly.
@simplesewing7 жыл бұрын
1. First measure from your ankle to your toe along the top of your foot (copy it to the paper as shown). 2. Then measure your foot from side to side, divide the measurement by 2 (copy to the paper as shown, directly below the mark you made in step 1). 3. The third measurement is from the floor to your ankle. Basically the height you want your slipper to be at that place. (Copy to the paper as shown, directly above the mark you made in step 2) 4. After drawing the curves for the front, measure the half of the sole. Then mark that length on the outer curve of the upper part, and mark it. Does that help any?

I can’t find a good pattern to makes slippers anywhere. The steps to make the pattern aren’t clear/descriptive and I can’t continue to do trial and error because I am running out of fabric at this point. I was really hoping for a good pattern. :(
