When I finish the vase and expand it, sometimes the top will not stay closed together at all and will unfold wide open. Not sure what I'm doing wrong.

So I found out what I was doing wrong. You have to make sure to pinch at the top when you reverse the top folds inwards on the vase. Pinch from the top, open from the bottom, and reverse the fold. Don't pinch from the bottom or the top of the vase will be splayed out and not close together.
