Hi Venta - thanks for comments! If you're struggling with the vision, just find a pic with one figure and limit your self to one background shape + the background 'bleed' into clothing. you'll get it!

Absolutely loved the collage! And I whole heartedly concur that a manually made one has a more visceral feel than something thrown together in Photoshop. You can do some amazing work in the program but it's definitely does not have the same qualities.

I absolutely love your style! And I agree that with all the photoshop and procreate skills I have, I love to pull out my old drafting equipment and skills and start building manually. I wish now I had saved more of my old drafting items when I moved halfway across the country. I have been flea marketing to rebuy the best stuff. Thanks for this great step by step process.

Love it! I have a ton of slides I took of buskers at the Edinburgh Festival in 1990. Composition is terrible because of all the audience clutter, but making collages would be perfect.

Happy new year first of all and I like the physical collage better because you can see the hand work of the artiest and that makes it more personal then a print out. My goal this year to to redo what I see with my art or photos and really learn from what I see and start being a worker bee and not just a looker bee.

Happy new year! Totally with you on the joys of cutting things out. It's kind of zen like lol I did my school work experience at a graphic design studio pre desktop publishing (showing my age lol) and had to sit and physically cut lines of text to re-fit it on a brochure design, after the photos had been re-sized! 🤣

Hey pippi, that's funny, I remember my dad doing layouts, lifting little slabs of text when doing his typesetting and illustration. he used to lift things with the edge of that scalpel that I'm now using to make these vids 50 years later!!!

Hey there, thanks for comment : ) It's a 'Logan 2000, push style matcutter'. you can get replacement blades easily and it's really sturdy

I know this sounds dumb but what glue stick are you using? I've tried sprays, Elmer's glue, I don't know what else without great success.

Hi Maria - the glue stick is made by 'Pritt'. To be honest, is was a bit dried up and lumpy! Best to use a fresh one but I had none to hand!
