Pisco may potentially have been created in Peru, but the Peruvian story is that the Pisco Sour was created in the 1920s by the American bartender, Victor Morris, at his Lima bar. Technically that would make the drink an American invention that came about in Peru ;p

Egg white i would have in the jug ready little bit mixed by blender to be easy to poor. But if he like to f@ck this way would recommend to add it as firts ingredient to don't waste alcohol which is already inside shaker in case you brake egg and add egg yolk💁‍♂️just safe and faster way😉

Obviously there are a lot of misconceptions due to the lack of education. First of all Chile produces more Pisco than Peru and Chileans drink more Pisco than Peruvians, but the quality of the Peruvian Piscos is by far greater than their Chilean counterparts because the adding of water. In Peru that practice is prohibited. When their infamous dictator Augusto Pinochet was in power he regularly imported Pisco Biondi from Peru. Did you know that??? John, you are right, there is a city in Peru of more 130,000 inhabitants founded in 1640 where the this spirit got its name and not the small village of Pisco Elqui, in Chile. That village was originally called "La Union" but in 1936 it changed its name to Pisco Elqui. This equates to changing the name of a valley in California to Champagne and start calling the sparkling wine produced in that valley Champagne. The other strong point is that the Pisco is a word in Quechua meaning "bird", Quechua is the native language of the Incas from Peru and not of Mapoche origin which was a tribe that inhabited the valleys of central Chile. In addition to this in Peru you can find town and villages called Piscobamba Piscopuna and Piscomarca as well as last names Piscoya and Piscoaga. Chileans that have never been to Peru would argue that their Pisco is the best and that the origin of Pisco is Chilean but that is pure and simple ignorance combined with understandable patriotism but the facts speak for themselves.
