if you want a better hammer you combine it with a forge cube Gold Cube + Iron Cube Forge Cube + Hammer If you want an even better one Iron Cube + Gold Cube Forge Cube + Iron Cube Heavy Hammer + Plate Cube

No it wouldn't work, Since you have to make enriched cubes for their own specific crafting tree.
