Hey everyone. I'm Max Dalton, and in this video I'm going to show you how to make a Facebook post shareable.
You may have noticed that you're not able to share posts from some of your friends on Facebook. This has to do with their personal Facebook settings associated with their posts. In this video, I'll show you how to check your Facebook settings to make sure your Facebook posts can be shared by your friends in both the Facebook app for iPhone, iPad, and Android devices, and also the Facebook website.
First, let's walk through the steps to make a Facebook post shareable in the Facebook app on an iPhone, iPad, or Android device.
Step 1. Tap inside of the What's On Your Mind? field on your Facebook home page. The Create Post screen appears.
Step 2. Tap the first drop-down box that appears directly beneath your name. This will most likely say "Friends" in it. The Select Privacy screen appears.
Step 3. Tap the empty circle to the left of "Public" in the Who Can See Your Post? section. A blue circle with a white check mark will be displayed inside of that circle when it is selected.
Step 4. Tap "Done" in the upper right corner of the screen. You'll return to the Create Post screen, where you'll now see Public displayed in the drop-down box beneath your name, rather than Friends. After creating your new post, anyone who sees it will be able to share it.
And now, let's walk through how to make your Facebook post shareable on the Facebook website.
Step 1. Open your web browser, navigate to Facebook.com, and then login to your Facebook account if prompted. You'll arrive at your Facebook home screen.
Step 2. Make sure "Make Post" is selected in the list of options above your news feed at the top, center part of your Facebook home screen.
Step 3. Click "What's On Your Mind?" A Make Post box will pop out from the screen.
Step 4. Make sure that the circle to the left of News Feed has a blue circle with a white check mark inside of it. If it doesn't, click inside of it until it does.
Step 5. Click the drop-down that's displayed to the right of News Feed. This will likely say "Private" in it. A list of options appears.
Step 6. Choose "Public" in the list of options. Continue creating your Facebook post, and then click "Share" when you're finished. Your post will be capable of being shared by anyone who wants to share it.

@Haider Zaman , actually, anyone who isn't on your friends list, who looks you up on Facebook, will be able to see your post if you set it to "public." There ought to be a setting for "Friends" which also allows those friends (people you trust) to share your post, as opposed to letting the whole world in.

This makes it viewable, not shareable. You have to go into facebook setting to make your posts shareable. Making a post viewable does not mean amyone can share it, even if the public can view it on your profile.

I already knew how to do this. My question is more advanced. When I share posts from a facebook organization's page (not a friend's timeline), how do I get the entire post - including the content the poster wrote? Perhaps this has to do with how the article or photo that is part of the post is coded? I know nothing about coding, but have clicked on the "inspect" feature that is part of the image and I see a lot of coded info which is gibberish to me.

Hello Max Dalton a great video. However, a few questions. Why have Public and Private choices in the first place. So I choose my "Friends" to send a post to and I don't choose "Public" because I don't want the whole world to see my post. Am I misunderstanding the meaning of Public and how it works? Another question so my Friends can see my Post but my friends can not share because I did not chose PUBLIC? Finally: If I select PUBLIC when I post, does that mean my posts are open for the whole world of fb users? Not what I want to do!

you used to be able to share post with just your friends. Obviously Facebook has now made it impossible unless you make the post public.this is an invasion of our privacy and exposes us to trolls and strangers! I suspect that Facebook did this during the 2016 election when Facebook was used to help Trump win! That is why they created the algorithm which now only shows your post to about 15 to 20 people. It is bullcrap Facebook and you should change it. We should be able to share our post to just our Facebook friends.

We are trying to make the post shareable WITHOUT opening up our post to every Tom, Dick and Harry. How do you make it shareable with just friends? This is not how it looks on my business page. I can not see the share button on my posts on my i7plus phone on my bus. page only. But others can see on it on their phone or computer. If you adjust these settings in the area where you go to make a new post, I believe it will stay that way for all post going forward until you change it back. However, if you want to do this for a post you've already made, it will only be changed for that post. I hope that helps.
