Jenny is a lover of antique irons, and she has quite the collection. She has a crimping iron, a dolphin-shaped sleeve iron, a 30-pound tailor’s iron, and an iron powered by a little propane tank. Dozens of old-fashioned irons stand on the shelves of her studio-and no two are alike.
Jenny’s collection is such a delight, it inspired J Wecker Frish’s new collection, Press On. So as Jenny stitches up this week’s iron-themed quilt, she’s using fabrics that feature her very own irons. (What a dream!)
This quilt is made with the Press On - Iron Patch Multi Panel and simple patchwork. (Jenny uses 10 inch precut layer cake squares, but yardage works just as well!)

This quilt is so cute! It’s fun to watch Jenny now as she squares and measures. I started watching MSQC in about 2018, and at that point she would never have squared the iron block and she would have assumed that all the strips were 2.5 inches. Although squaring is probably my least favorite part of quilting, I know it will improve my piecing. I love how Jenny is squaring and measuring without being all “quilt police” about it!

I have 2 old irons that my mother collected. One should have a cord one is old enough it was heated on the stove. I use them today to hold my ruler when cutting fabric

Great quilt! Watching video for ideas on another quilt currently making. I wanted a different idea for borders around my squares of cats in flannel fabric. I really like the solid border and then the scrap to contrast. Plus it will make the quilt a bit bigger. A two fer.lol
