It also leads to soggy noodles. As an al dente enjoyers myself I tend to throw the noodles into pre boiling water and stop it just a little before the recommended time on the box

Have you tried heating the soup and then putting the noodles in? I'm thinking that if you do the soup with a can or two of water, you'll add flavor to the noodles while they cook.

So I tried cooking it that way before but it kinda burnt the soup to the bottom of the pan and since I never got it up to a real boil the noodles were just kinda meh
