Also, the beat sounds nice but for that legitimate pre-'00s Prince sound, you need some flanger/chorus on the percussion and snare hits. That very distinct underwater aesthetic is some of what makes his work so distinctive among the '80s R&B/funk-rock canon.

The rhythm guitar is similar to "Get Down On It" by Kool and the Gang, and the beginning of the guitar solo is almost identical to the solo from "Message to Archvile", a song from Doom 2 (almost certainly a coincidence, but I'll see to it that Microsoft sues you to oblivion >:)
