This is a fast and easy project, to make a pallet cart / trailer either full size or just use a portion of a pallet, depending on your needs. You can keep a few pre-drilled pallets around and use them for different needs, without having to buy more tires, nuts and bolts, since it's so fast and easy to move the gear around from one pallet to another.
I use this to move heavy trash barrels full of compost, blocks and bricks, and other stuffy weighing hundreds of pounds, up to around 1,000 pounds.
Get some 10" tires with bearings, at a discount store or on CL, some threaded rods or bolts around 5/8" (or whatever the appropriate size is for your tires) and some nuts. You can nail sides onto these carts, or tie bungees to them, to keep your stuff in place without falling off. Then you can use different pallets (or portions of them) to move whatever you need.
It's great for attaching to a tractor or an ATV, too. Just be sure to use some heavy duty rope (or a couple of them, or chains).
This is a super fast project anybody can do, probably in a half hour, and when you're done, toss the pallet (or use it for another project), and keep the tires and gear to use for other projects.
It's great to move heavy stuff across a big yard or land, when you can't use a pickup, and you don't feel like filling up your yard with more trailers and carts of different types.

Meaning, you should of either used a full length 5/8 rod or added a 2x4 to the ends for more support.

These sorts of wheels usually have bearings built into them, so they can run pretty smooth on their own. Thanks!

Very useful for carrying one bag of mulch (or anything else that's small and won't fall off) over level ground. Yawn...

@@Kube_Dog honestly, I think it's fine. It's not the best cart in the world. It's probably not even top 80% if you were to somehow rank every DIY cart design ever. But, it functions, and OP seems to know its limitations, so I'm cool with it. Sounds like he had fun building it and showing it off, so I empathized and decided to defend him from ridicule. If you didn't intend to ridicule, then I misinterpreted and apologize. Realistically, it's a below average cart, but it likely functions better than you're giving it credit for. tl;dr - cart is meh but not as bad as you're implying. Also, I feel bad for the dude.
