It’s gorgeous! Lovely idea to use a base fabric to do the patchwork ❤🎉

My mother made one of these out of silk which she printed her designs on. It was spectacular! That was in 1974!!!

I love this. I also love working with patchwork, I’ve made a patchwork puffer jacket, tote, apron and I want to make a quilt and hoodie in the style too. I love how you were able to use fabric you already had

I have a bunch of merino sweaters i am collecting i think a patchwork vest would be a fun project. Have to find a way for them not to shimmy around while sewing ....and how to finish the edges . ....hmmmmm. Your jacket is so fun
@eleanorstievaАй бұрын
that would be really cool! I ended up pinning down my patches as I was sewing so they wouldn't move around so much. Maybe you could serge the edges in interesting colours and have exposed edges??

I really like the result! I have a lot of scrap fabric and I thought of sewing something similar. But like you, I’m not really a fan of patchwork. It’s not my style. But on the other hand, I sewed a very colourful summer dress, jumper and sweatshirt jacket this year. Also not my style normally. So why not seeing a patchwork jacket with fabric scraps? 😅 I even have batting and other materials. My only „fear“ is that my result will look ugly. Somehow I tend to incorporate errors in my handmade clothes. I‘ll review my scrap stash and think about the best way to tackle this. I already used a lot to fill a needle cushion and a neck roll. But there is still so much left. 🙈

I think it's definitely worth a try! I was very worried about not liking the final result as well lol but laying out the colours and choosing how it goes together helps. Best of luck!
