They were called air checks when I was on the air. We were not referred to as "Radio Presenters" either. We were referred to as " Radio Announcers or Radio Personalities. 3:33 - this was pretty much the structure even way back in the day. Many commercial radio station Program Directors want the first thing that comes out of your mouth after keying the mic to be the station call sign or slogan. I would never put time and temp in an air check.

Yeah some things change with time. Some station never back announce songs and others don't even care if you mention songs at all. But to me tried and tested techniques won't fail you especially if you are new to radio. I think with many things in the world you learn the best theories and techniques and then make your own mind up what is best or simply do what your programs manager says. I have a lot of experienced radio presenters who watch my videos but it's the newcomers that really gain the most. It can be fun to discuss which technique is best but new presenters need to learn quality skills before making their own choice.

Hi. Yes I have worked as a radio presenter on many radio stations as well as managed and even owned radio stations. So I am hoping to share my knowledge and experience in a range of radio broadcast related topics. I also ran an in person presenter training class and I really enjoyed watching students grow as presenters. That's what inspired me to start this channel. Hope you keep enjoying the videos :)

It is a great lifestyle if you can achieve it. A dream job worth pursuing. Age doesn't really matter if there is an audience. Keep going and best of luck with your shows. Hope it works out for you long term :)

I saw a job advert of being radio presenter and i was told to send voice demo and CV, i have never done anything about radio and know nothing but have desire and passion to do one, how do i go about it please, thank u

@@marthamumbi9742 Hi Martha. Thank you for your question. Like any job application you need to be able to show that you can do the job. Having the passion is great but it is only the beginning. You need to learn as much as you can about presenting then practice as much as you can and make a demo from your work or practicing. Let the desire and passion push you to get this done. You can make a basic demo of your voice and send it to the radio station. Sometimes they want fresh new people with no skills that they can train up from scratch based on your quality of voice. This is very rare though. Most stations want people with at least some experience or knowledge of presenting.

Hey too, thank you for the response So whats needed to be said in that demo voice, and is it okay if i use my phone one
@inspiresoundpro
@inspiresoundpro Жыл бұрын
@@marthamumbi9742 Normally a phone will not have the right quality for voice recordings but you can try doing a basic radio link without the music on your phone but you must do it in a room with no echo like your bedroom. Then don't talk too close and not too far from your phone so the sound is clear. practice a few times recording till you have one that sounds best. I will be posting a new video about doing a radio link soon. That might help you with getting the structure of the the demo link recording right.
