How to Make a Realistic Bunker diorama... Almost

Welcome to my first video! Building and creating dioramas and landscapes has been my passion and hobby for over two years now. I've been sharing them with my friends and family and occasionally put them up on Instagram and reddit. Well this time i wanted to push myself and make a video documenting the whole process. Hey! So seeing this I thought you might be able to help me. So here's my situation: I want to make a bunker for my 1/6 scale action figures, and the foam I bought to make the walls is way too thick (around 8 cms). With the tools I have splitting in half is not an option. Are there any materials you might use instead? I don't want to go as cheap as just using painted cardboard, but I also do not want this to be a long and expensive project. Any recommendations? Thanks!

Hmmm ya I like using foam core board, one problem with it though is that it has a tendency to warp when painted especially if the pieces are large. Another one of my go to methods is making faux concrete walls with a jig. You mix up plaster of Paris a little sand and paint for the color and pore into a jig. Banana? LOL Nice video and great result. Your narration was also good, as were the techniques you covered. Thanks What scale? Without any figures or vehicles it was hard to tell - and along with that, what's the purpose? Is that base truly finished, or is there a phase 2 where you add the elements that tell a story? Personally, I'm a firm believer that the purpose of a diorama is to tell a story. (Not just 'a tank in the woods'; something more like a 'a tank with a nervous crew hiding from air attack') In any case - I subscribed... 😀

Thanks! Ya its hard to say about the scale, I mainly used 28mm bolt action figures when building it by just placing them around lol. I built it before I got a 3d printer to print my own figures, might be fun to print some off and refresh this build in the future.

Awesome! The ground is attic insulation, this stuff www.greenfiber.com/products/sanctuary and then I mix it with plaster of paris. Then I glue down sifted dirt from outside.
