Hey yo 👋🏼 I know this is an old video but it is definitely my favourite. I've always been alone on Valentine's Day which didn't really bother me until last year when I got dumped the day BEFORE Valentine's Day. Ever thought that he doesn't actually like the taste of fondant? Yeah you can make some neat stuff with it but it tastes nasty >.> folks often make the layers too thick as well (talking 5-10mm). While I don't think Yolanda is lazy, I can understand where your friend is coming from. It would take a lot more skill and time to make a sculptured cake look like a heart if fondant wasn't used with the amount of smoothing and chilling. Personally I think it was right to use fondant in this case for the texture. If it was a dog I would expect fondant not to be used due to the fur texture. It has a time and a place in decorating, I'm sure you will at least be able to understand that?

I made this cake, it turned out amazing better than I could of dreamed!! It was for hubbys 50th party but I didn't do red velvet I did my normal vanilla sponge and coloured it red as I wanted a bright red inside I also did it in a 10 inch tin so it was huge, a great success!
