Thanks for the video. I think I will try making this, since I don't want to pay such a ridiculous price for a rolling sharpener. One change I might suggest to make this build more economical is to simply apply some tape to the center wood instead of spending all that time sanding and applying a finish to the wood. Time is money. For the amount of time it takes to do that, especially if you don't have a belt sander, a strip of a suitable type of tape would be far cheaper. As in, for most people, if they spent that same amount of time at their jobs, they'd probably earn way, way more than the few cent cost of the tape spent.

How clever you are! I love it! And you took the time to make it look attractive. I have Swiss Army knives from the 1960's and 1990s and they have never been sharpened. When I get time, I will try to make one. I have most of the tools you used, though not all.

Nice sharpener and nice DIY build! In general, any guide that maintains consistent angle and eliminates the human “wobble factor” is good. This sharpener looks very handy and easy for anyone to use.👍

Most of the labor and equipment used in this video is to make a rectangular piece of wood into a smooth cylinder shape. Most people do not have all of that equipment. It would be better to just make out of a wooden closet rod used for hanging coats. These are available at Home Depot or other hardware stores with a 1-inch diameter (25mm). I might try this. Thanks you for making so many great videos Felix.

Great idea! And easy to make. I would give an option to print it out with 3D printer, and to make the end of the ramps to be at the level of the strop. This way it will be more like smooth transition from the ramp on to the strop instead of repositioning the knife. Anyway - great job!
