Hi Carl, love your videos they've helped me out a ton! I was wondering if you could do a video on how to make an animated border around any text (H1, body, etc.) I am trying to find a new way to break up the page without having to use static borders/lines.

Just one thought that wouldn't it be easy to create shape layer and use it to trakmat the image. It creates the same results.

Hi, really handy tutorial ... but I have exported a video with transparency for a website ... what were the limitations that prevented you from doing that?
@Carl_Johnson2 жыл бұрын
Thanks Harjit! Yes, it is possible to export an After Effects comp with a transparent background …the limitations in this case were that the file formats that After Effects spits out aren’t supported by a lot of browsers, or can’t be uploaded to some of the bigger “mainstream” website builders.
@JayBaggio2 жыл бұрын
Thanks, what if the website is interactive and you want to have the website scroll on video format to see the motions instead of just a still png?
@Carl_Johnson2 жыл бұрын
Sure, you can do a screen recording of the website and place it in the composition instead of a png.
@JayBaggio2 жыл бұрын
@@Carl_Johnson thanks. And what tool do you use to record the intereactive scroll in video format?
@Carl_Johnson2 жыл бұрын
@@JayBaggio I personally use CleanShot X for Mac, but if you're on a Mac you can use QuickTime. I'm not too sure about PC.

Great video! question: sometimes you see this kind of bluriness in videos, when scrolling down or up on a page. How do they do that?
@Carl_Johnson3 жыл бұрын
Good question, definitely something I should have mentioned in the video. You'll need to add motion blur to the screenshot layer - here's a quick video from another channel on how to do that kzbin.info/www/bejne/pWHOnaOrZ7atr8U

How do you do the close up angled shots from the very beginning of the video?
@Carl_Johnson2 жыл бұрын
It's just a normal screen recording done with CleanShot, then when I'm editing in Final Cut Pro I use the distort and scale tools along with position keyframes to zoom in, skew and move the clip.

I'm on a late 2015 iMac with an Intel i5 processor. Any of the new M1, M1 Pro, M1 Max or M2 MacBook Pro's should be able to handle After Effects easily.

Not to mention the scrolling website on the Sqs example appears to have an FAQ accordion, which, of course... you need a plug-in for. Nice seeing how to do this on Ae rather than Ps. Always enjoy the humour in your videos. Is that a scouse accent I hear?
@Carl_Johnson3 жыл бұрын
Yes, I do plan to make a video on FAQ accordions. I've made one (an accordion) that I've used in a couple of client sites ...seems only right to share it. It is a scouse accent, yes :)
