Hi how do you cut your hair on carpet how do you clean it

Lakerfan08 LA you know those black capes they use at the barbers? I have two. I wear one and then I stand on top of one. I use a nail brush to brush the hair off the bottom of my feet before I step off the cape. Once I'm done with my cut and then I go straight to the shower. Feel free to ask me more questions if your confused.

Hey, thanks for putting this video together...I basically watched your video this afternoon, went out to Walmart and Home Depot and got everything for about $25. After I got home, it took me about an hour to screw it all together and it's up on my wall and working great. I immediately used it to trim the back of my neck so I don't look like a wolf-man. The only tweak was that I had to bump out the bottom of the center mirror with felt pads so it would hang level, this kept the left/right side mirrors in place and prevented them from swinging forward. Well done!!!
@chrisheadley808
@chrisheadley808 4 жыл бұрын
Richard M no worries man I'm glad I could help. Zgreentv said he just uses a cork on the back of the middle mirror so everything stays level. Pads should work too you might just need to use a bunch of them

Thanks for posting this guide. This is how DIY videos should be done: clear visuals, well articulated instructions, edited for conciseness. A color-coded spreadsheet was even put together as a handy reference. 👍One thing I would add: To keep the side mirrors from folding in when hung, bend the long side of the door hanging system inward so it is angled like a "7". This will help the mirror hugging close to the door and maintain balance, so the side mirrors don't move toward you so easily. You can then use the cork solution as necessary.

Thanks Chris! I just built mine over the weekend, took 2-2.5 hours, but it is definitely worth it because of the clarity of those Walmart mirrors and the sheer size of them. I bought one of those selfcut mirrors online and it had all these scratches on it. This was wayyy better and like half the price. I can completely close all three sides because some of my hinges hit, but it's all good. Thanks for uploading this tutorial, I've already cut my own hair 5 times during this pandemic and this'll make it a lot easier. No more between the legs holding a full length mirror or dropping a mirror off of a ladder. lol. I like how much detail you put into your video and the excel spreadsheet. I even bought the materials from Home Depot from the item numbers on the video.

Hey, Chris. I wanted to make sure and double-check with you regarding the size of the tee hinges. I put them in and the "third" mirror is not flush with the floor at all (like the first two) and there is space in between the middle and third mirrors. What could be causing this?
@chrisheadley808

Steve Drake if you're laying it flat on the floor it shouldn't be flush with the floor. The bend in the t hinge will get in the way from it laying flat

THANKS CHRIS!!! Just finished putting mine together! Saved me at least $50+ bucks. Liked & subscribed! Few tips for anyone else out there: - make sure the T hinges are far enough to the edge so they can rotate freely, otherwise the 3rd mirror will not open all the way. - removing the mount on the back of the mirrors can make things less wobbly. Good luck!

Now the question is how many people are still actually cutting their own hair now that barbers are starting to open again? Be honest how many people said screw this I'll just pay to get my haircut again. I personally am still butchering my own hair because I am having a problem seeing parts of my head. I just finished making this triple mirror today so I'm hoping it will give me more visibility. I am truly going to try and master this. Last night I was sitting here and I said I want a nice clean cut. That tight skin fade. I got up and cut it last night and felt great afterwards. No having to ride out to the barber. No having to wait in lines. No paying $25 to get it cut. I can now get this feeling whenever I want and I'm pretty damn excited about it. This video was so helpful especially on bending the Tee hing. Thanks.

@@anthonypagan349 If you use the long mirrors from Target, with these cabinet hinges, keep in mind you will have to reinforce your fastening method. I used longer screws than what came with the cabinet hinges, and I drove the screws into additional pieces of wood in back of the mirrors for more stability. One rectangle piece of wood for each hinge. Because the screws that come with the cabinet hinges are too short, and the mirror panels have curved peaks and valleys along the panes, so the surface the screws are driven into isn’t flat.

I liked your approach. But what you need in your tool box is a hand awl for small pilot holes. You have the right idea for the need of pilot holes, but get yourself a wood awl. They are similar to an awl used in leather craft but have a triangular shaft that will cut the wood fibers to the depth that you need. When you have one, you will always look for it first for all pilot holes. Especially anything up to an inch or a bit better. Stay well.

I finally made mine today. I just have to find a place and a way to hang it. I have no LED lights, I might add that or I might not. But I want a battery operated light of some sort instead of a plug-in with all the cords and stuff. I did struggle to put my mirror system together. Because, the wood was so crazy hard that it was almost impossible to screw in, especially with a normal screwdriver. I almost gave up. Perhaps it would have been easier with a drill. Anyway, it is finished, and I will use it very, very soon, because I desperately need a haircut! :-) I just hope it works great.

Yeah the cost has really come down over the years especially with all the Chinese copy cats on Amazon. I’d say it’s only worth it now if you want the ability to fix it yourself and also enjoy DIY projects. I would say this is also higher quality

Great video. Anyone have any suggestions on longer over the door hangars? I live in a house with big ass doors. The doors are about 8 feet so theres no way the one he used in the video will be long enough. Another possibility could be hanging it over the bathroom curtain rod but I would need something more round and not flat like the one in this video
@chrisheadley808
@chrisheadley808 4 жыл бұрын
Max Pill you could use the second method I showed for hanging the mirrors and drill straight into a dry wall with dry wall anchors. Or maybe devise some type of extension for the over the door hanger.
@maxp6521
@maxp6521 4 жыл бұрын
@@chrisheadley808 Thanks. Its a rented house though so no drilling into walls. I'll look into some type of door hanger extension.
@chrisheadley808
@chrisheadley808 4 жыл бұрын
Max Pill idk if you have a drill or a saw but you could get a long thin piece of wood, drill holes in both ends, screw in the top to the over the door hanger with a nut and bolt and leave the hole in the bottom open for the screw hook.
