Just a note for those like me who followed the directions but did not manage to make the gate work properly : Be CAREFUL to pull up the slider knobs EXACTLY as ralph is showing on the video, in the right side, ie : bring VCF(Audio) and AR(Cntrl) all the way UP (VCA section), and the VCA(Audio) slide UP as well (Mixer Section). (I scratched my head for about an hour before realizing I was bringing UP the VCF up but not the VCA, hence the gate trigger having absolutely no effect 😅) I am still struggling to have the same setup now but with the ADSR section though - still getting weird behaviour. I guess I'll figure it out after sticking to it for some time (still rusted after a couple of years away from synthesis )

@@RalphBaumgartl Finally I went with the CVs and I kind of like it more because it is how the original was designed for..... I tried to connect a BeatStep Pro directly the Pitch to the ARP's KeybCV with an external passive multi (just one of those plastic cv port replicators that looks like an asterix) and didn't worked. I guess the ARP's MULT converts the BeatStep Pro voltage to what the ARP understands...... So, I use the plastic replicator and only one out from the ARPs MULT... and then to each OScillator... and works great. That leaves 2 empty but unusable ports, because they already contain the Pitch signal.... so the question: Is there a way to Not use the MULT input on the ARP2600?? and just an external replicator? ...then I would be leaving the MULT empty to use on another patch.

There's only one VCF - VCA signal path on the 2600. You can route the VCO's separately through the VCF and VCA and then feed them separately into the mixer, but they are still going to be triggered by the same Gate. To have true independence you need external modules or 2600 Synth. Greetings, Ralph

What is the usage of the KEYB CV in the FM control area?
@RalphBaumgartl2 ай бұрын
When you connect a MIDI controller to the B2600 the Pitch is sent to the VCO's internally. When you connect a Keyboard or Sequencer to B2600 via CV and Gate, you have to plug the Pitch (CV) signal into KEYB CV slots of the VCO's. This will break the internal Pitch connection and replace it with the CV signal. Greetings, Ralph

@@RalphBaumgartl Thanks a lot for your crystal clear explanations, by the way the video is really well done about those explanations. My question was about the "other" KEYB CV that you find below the KEYB CV of VCO1. Just below the KEYB CV entry of VCO 1, you have 4 plugs : TRIG OUT, UPPER VOICE, GATE OUT and.... KEYB CV ! My question was about that one, the manual not being very clear about it, what is the usage of that "other" KEYB CV? The receipt you show works perfectly, and needs to use the MULT to split the signal into the KEYB CV of each oscillator. I thought the other KEYB CV I mention here above would have an effect on all the oscillators, but this is not the case. In fact, I don't understand what is the usage of that "other" KEYB CV I menton here above (near TRIG OUT, UPPER VOICE, GATE OUT section)... :-)

Hello Dan! The S&H Gate connection is working properly on both Synths, the ARP2600 and the Barp2600. When I go through the Gate input it is not working properly on either Synth. It seems as if the ADSR is not fully triggered. On the Barp2600 that’s maybe because of the Gate-In threshold of +4V. But that’s only my assumption. i want to control the Behringer 2600 via cv and gate using the Matriarch to control it. Wanted to "dip" the waters and see how exactly the Matriarch can function as a modular hub before adding more modules. I did exactly the same as shown in this tutorial, step by step - but while i can trigger notes (gate to amp envelope via the s&h input with the switch down, and cv to mults to the oscillators) - it doesn't seem to also trigger the filter envelope - although it's supposed to. So i'm not sure what i'm missing. Is it something i might have missed on the Matriarch? Some kind of global parameter i need to change? Or is it something i might have missed on the Behringer 2600?
