It provides a ton more confidence, pride and self reliance doing thing yourself. Now I am carving pelagic fish wooden trolling lures for and also making some from .5" Lexan for my trolling needs. Next will be casting lures. If you working with your hand and being self sufficient it is totally enjoyable and enriching as you can see the brilliant Mr.Ocean Adventures is doing. Jim Rodgers

@vsonic866 жыл бұрын
I never had luck on them. Any suggestions? I use it for mangrove snappers
@oceanadventures16 жыл бұрын
Yes if you are fishing for mangroves try using fresh frozen pogies cut them in to quarter size chunks and use a 2 ounce weight with a smaller hook (1-0 to 4/0) hook also the size of a quarter. The rig should be braided line with a 2 ounce slip weight, a swivel, 30 pound flourocarbon line ( about 18 inches) 1/0 hook, small chunk of fresh frozen pogie, squid, or shrimp. I useually try all 3 to see what works best at the time. It's also great to use live bait for mangroves. You should attempt to drop the bait freely to the bottom and feel for when or how deep you get the fish. Generally trash fish may steal your bait on the way down. Any bycatch should be chopped up and spread around your fishing area. Remember: the closer you are to civilization the harder it is to catch fish.flat fall jigs work well offshore in an inviroment that the fish will eat anything you drop in the water. I use flatfalls to fish at a depth of 200 feet for fish that are a minimum of 20 pounds. I have caught several huge red snappers with jigs but not very many mangroves. Your best bet is to drop a light line casually through the water column and snag the fish that makes the most aggressive strike. Happy Thanksgiving and try not to catch too many catfish!

just hit the like to make it 500 - could you make sure to clamp those pieces of wood down haha - should make another video maybe with rubber mold
@oceanadventures14 жыл бұрын
Actually a figured out a way to make a good deep drop weight maybe 5 pounds for swordfish would you be interested?
@ipmoroca4 жыл бұрын
@@oceanadventures1 I mainly fish from the shore or fresh water- based in UK but I haven't seen many English DIY metal jigs videos so I reckon showing one but hard rubber could be something but at the end of the day depends what your channel likes
@1FishinAddict6 жыл бұрын
Another way is to use bondo to make a mold. You can make as many castings as you want without it burn up if it was with wood mold.

What a joke. This guy has no idea how to make a lure. Use clay, then silicone to make mold. Or even bonds will work, with a lot less work and trouble. Never sand lead unless you love lead dust.
