Great video with good explantion, love the colour of both pots and they go so will with the dark red carnation. The silver is very nice for a christmassy look.

My name is Michelle I am a Trinidadian ,living ni the Island of Trinidad and Tobago in the Caribbean. I have recently found your channel and it is indeed a joy Im learning so much and its formal step step training following the shapes and designs of floral arrangement which I knew nothing about, and like someone said I was doing my own thing just following patterns and the won't bad at all . But learning the formal floral way, following the principles of shape scale of designs has made a distinctive difference to my designs

Beautiful arrangement! So delightful to look at. Carnations are such a versatile flower and long lasting too. It's lovely to find someone who arranges with UK flowers and foliage too! Thank you.

Your videos are EXCELLENT! Thank you so much for your expert instruction. I learned floral design here in the States and the current trend of instruction is to "do your own thing"....do what feels right, and let the flowers tell you where they want to be. As a beginner, though, I like how you teach the geometrical form of the arrangement. I need the fundamental structure of the arrangement, and then I can go from there. THANK YOU ever so much for teaching with this approach in mind.

Your video and explaination are very clear. I like your videos a lot. Thank you! I learn so much from you. I want to be a florist but I don’t know which way to start. I tried to apply for jobs in many flower shops but they ask for experience. Do you think taking classes and get a certificate is a good way to start? Or should I buy flower and practice by myself at home and call it experience? How much experience is enough that you would hire a beginner florist to start with?

Hi there, as a commercial florist myself, I would expect someone to have already trained before giving them a job. Floristry isn't just about arranging flowers, there is a lot of information that needs to be learnt. I would suggest trying to take a professional course and try to build a portfolio of designs to show flower shop owners. Hope that helps and good luck

Would you pull off outer petals to make tallest flower smaller?

You could do but it would depend on the flower type.

Can you advise the size of your container or the best size for this design
@sharondower3 жыл бұрын
Hi Sue. This container is about a handspan in height and width. Whatever size your container is, you will allow 1.5-2 times the height to create your arrangement. So if your container is 5 inches high, your tallest leaf or flowers is 10 inches on top of you 5 inch container. Hope that helps.
@suehooper62273 жыл бұрын
@@sharondower Thank you for your reply. My container is 7" tall by 4" wide. I have placed some stones in the bottom of the container to weight it down. Is this container to tall and narrow for this arrangement. Would I be better with another vessel or will 1.5 - 2 times the height with the 7 flowers still be ok. Am looking to do some flowers for my daughters wedding January 2023 and your videos are my starting point to hopefully pulling off some beautiful background arrangement. The di.ension and length info you provide for flowers and foliage is extremely helpful. Look forward to hearing if I can use the container I have, happy to purchase another if not. Thanks again for your reply.
@sharondower3 жыл бұрын
@@suehooper6227 because your container is narrow, try using 5 flowers and try 1.5 times the height of your container to make it more stable
