That was very cool. My grandma would always make a ginger tea with lemon and honey for me when I was sick. She would sometimes put an herb called recao into it which gave it a slight minty and herby flavor. I wonder if this was just a Puertorican version of this. Edit: Recao is Culantro in English Also, I really appreciate that you included the vitamins that can be found in the pine.

This looks great. I remember my grandmother giving me oregano tea for an upset stomach, so disgusting, but very effective. Thanks for the recipe.

My family makes similar recipe with spruce tips. I really like the taste and smell of it and take it without medical need for it. I guess, i crave for it because my body needs it.

Thank you! I read about how it was made on moldy oranges or something once, but I've never looked into it that hard. One of my favorite natural antibiotics is Usnea Tincture (some info here gardenofgoodvsevil.wordpress.com/2015/01/11/the-old-mans-beardis-an-antibiotic/) i haven't made a video on it yet but I really should, it's on my ever growing list!

When I feel a cold or flu episode trying to gain a foothold, I knock back ceyane pepper mixed in 2 fingers of rum. Old dogs can learn new tricks . . . Ain't nothin' it can't fix !¡

I have pine, fir and redwood but no spruce 😢

You could do the same thing with pine needles! They have very similar properties, astringent, antiseptic, and high vitamin C. It's a different flavor but still very nice! If you do use pine, I like to give them a rough chop.

@@apinchofpatience Monterey pine ok? I know different pines have different tanin levels but I never investigated Monterey pine because it's mostly just a pest

@billvan5219 I believe so! You could do your own internet search but I'm fairly certain that's fine to use, I mostly have white, ponderosa, and lodgepole in my area. 😄
