It amazes me to see you do this. I thought of doing this on my sister and thought it was a ridiculous idea. And here I see someone doing it. Awesome!

Hello, Phyllisgordon, Your comment tells me I am on the right track. Part of my mission is to dispel the fear of trying things in the world of sewing. I was extremely reluctant to do many things. It's taken decades to overcome shyness. Dive in and try something. You might find out your idea was a great one! Thank you for writing and Happy Sewing!

Hi, Sheena, Thank you so much for this comment. I intend to do trousers but it will be a while. I have several complete courses already filmed and ready to upload onto this platform. However, I will start working on trousers soon. Stay tuned!

Hello, again, Sheena, please tell me what type of trouser (pleated?) and do you want to see it draped and sewn? I would really like to know. Thank you!

Sally, If the model had a large discrepancy between waist and high hip measurement as in a protruding tummy how would shape this to make the pattern fit? Thank you

Hi, Marion, How nice to hear from you! I may need a bit more information to answer this but I think how I would go about it is make to the pattern fall from the high hip down. Is there a fitted waistline? That information would help me better understand how to help you. If the garment is not fitted at the waist, let it gently shape to the waist and then go out for the high hip and straight down from there. Sometimes for women who have a seriously big high hip I use a higher waistline shaping. Not an empire waist but between that and the normal waistline. It is quite trimming! I plan on doing a video soon showing how to make a fitted sloper shell (muslin dress that is fitted to the waist with a seam there and then skirt attached), the more traditional type of fitting shell. The torso sloper is great for dresses that have no waistline, shirts, jackets and coats. Please let me know if this help and if you feel you need more information, please describe the type of garment you are making. Hopefully in good time I will be able to answer questions via Zoom! Thanks for your question and for your subscription!

Hello, Marion, Sorry for the late reply! I thought I had written to you but do not see a reply. At the end of this video I address this situation by padding up the model so she has a protrusion at high hip. Just be sure to start with enough width of fabric to easily reach around the high hip area and from that area up to the waist make two equal darts on either side of center front- a total of four darts in the front and the darts may be rather short to accommodate the different between the waist and high hip. Hope this is helpful!
