Hello Alina… It’s the nipple to nipple, also known as the bust span, that is the distance from one nipple to the other nipple. It varies for different people, depending on the bust size. For most persons, the distance between the two nipple point is between 7 - 8 inches.

Nice one dear Pls I have a question, assuming my skirt length is 19, after marking my basque to be 5 inches from the side and 12 inches for the center front and back.. what length should I cut for the longest gathers strip?

Thanks dear💕 I am assuming you already took out your waistband. The length will be 7inches plus 1inch hemming allowance and 0.5inch joining allowance. The total will be 8.5inches.
