In this episode i am scratch building a modular Space Hulk for Kill Team, Necromunda, 40K, Star Wars Legion, or any other type of sci fi games.
It was a fun but long project and it is one i am going to enjoy playing with for a long time. It has many variations of lay outs and in the future i will add other features that you can use in this build. This is a very basic set that can be used for years of fun gameplay.
This is the link to my necromunda project where i build loads of fun terrain to use in your games.

I guess you could add magnets to have walls you can change per game. This is really cool. Love the step by step guide with the explanations.

Thank you very much, I appreciate that a lot and I am happy you find my videos useful. It is a great hobby and I always enjoy building stuff with cheap and easy to come by materials. You can spend a lot of money on pre build terrain but with a bit of creativity and trial and error you can accomplish a lot and it's also cool to set a table with stuff you made yourself hehe. I am happy you found this hobby mate and enjoy the ride. Thanks for watching 😉👍.

A way to add more variety would be to create a 3x2 (measured in grid segments) raised area, and accompanying 1x3 floor segments (no walls). This way, when you set a room tile on the riser, there can be an additional hallway area beneath the overhang. Best used with wall-less tiles on the adjacent room, so you can access the covered area easily.

Thank you very much mate, glad you liked it 😁. I tried to make it as modular as possible and also wanted it to tie into my necromunda builds so I would have double usage from it 😉. I started building terrain for LotR back in the early 2000's. I was just getting into wargames with the 1st battle game from GW. Our rpg group played it a lot along with DnD. That's how I got into crafting. So my first terrain builds all were LotR hehe. Anything in particular piece or build you had in mind? Maybe I can give it a go. I had a huge Helms Deep I build back then. Took me months, it was Massive and later i realised I could not get it out of my game room 😅. It was that big. Thanks for watching 😉👍.

And here I thought there would be no more terrain videos on this channel... This one is the opposite of anticlimactic! So cool, so simple and so creative. Thinking of modular terrain myself (once I will start creating my own terrain, not just watching others do so and planning) the idea of using magnets on the outer conners of the blocks to connect them comes to my mind. What is your opinion about it? Will it help to hold them together and is it really necessary? I always find myself moving and sometimes even ruining terrain by accident while playing, so may be this is the solution
@alrethianscraftsbattles
@alrethianscraftsbattles 2 жыл бұрын
Thank you very much, glad you liked it. Hehe I still do lots of terrain, and will continue to do so 😉. This project took up a lot of my craft time but I am happy with the result. Building terrain and setting up a table with stuff you created yourself is Always a great feeling of joy, be creative and have fun with each build. You can definitely add magnets if you wish, it would work perfectly well. If you don't want to go to the trouble of magnets I suggest adding a few squirts of hotglue strips at the Bottom of each tile. Once dried it also keep it from sliding due to the rubbery texture of the hotglue. I do that on certain terrain pieces as well. It all depends on what you have at hand, hope that helps 😉. Thanks for watching man 😁👍.

For the elevated tiles you could make instead of stairs a balcony. Or connect two elevated rooms with a gantry that goes through a lower room.

Yeah For sure, there are many options one could do. I went with a basic set that everyone can quickly do. But there are many ways to expand on the tiles and make them anyway you prefer. i like the balcony idea, that sounds awesome. I also have made corridors and removable wall sections and bridges.
