Just what I needed, thank you, I think I might cut stripy straws to go over the bamboo sticks. I don't have steady enough hands to put the swirls on. If that fails, I'll probably use an extruder to get the shape.

Please could you twol the difference between rolled icing to sugar and gum paste please. Also how would i achieve different colours on the top of the carousel? Please, i plan to do this for my daughters 1st in june c

Hi I hope your well. Rolled icing is known as fondant or Sugarpaste and this is used to cover cakes. Gumpaste however is used to make things like the horses which which dry very firm - Sugarpaste wont allow them to be firm enough and are likely to break. You can also colour Sugarpaste to different colours by using gel colours. Wilton and sugarflair are good brands.
