@pspbeans thanks alot! this trap if fairly successful, you just have to set the trigger mechanism in the right place. if you put it too far away or to close to the spring stick, the trap will go off and like whip you in the face. have fun!

@Medic0987rules put the bait on the top of the ramp. the squirrel will die instantly from a broken neck or may be strangled. not always an instant kill.

i know how to help that. Take a bit longer branch so it springs more and make shure there is a bout a hands length rope lying loose so the spring builds speed first. snaps the neck

@marvindamango yeh i've caught like three squirrels with this rig... and i baited it with balled up wheat bread covered in peanut butter and birdseed. they go crazy for it, esp. in the fall.

This trap looks like it might work unlike most i've tried. Have you ever actually caught a squirrel? if so, what did u bait it with?

why wouldnt you stick the circle noose over the food on the pessure stick so it catches its neck? Or would the noose just slide up to the neck since the head is bigger than the body? You should try both and see which works better.

also if yo uare creative enough you can make one with a double noos and 2 springs so they pull tight from 2 sides doubling the snapping force
