Nothing screams PRO, like a giant tool belt and harness without a single tool on it and the full suite of Black & Decker.

or you could mount the T connectors with the middle pipe first and then add the legs nice project btw, I'm doing this, but with just one board on top and one on the bottom

To prevent the seams from showing recommend hand planing to make sure the boards are level, then gluing the edges, then planing and sanding the top. It will make a much nicer finish then shoving finish in-between the boards.

Great project. I would use 2x6’s as the braces rather than the 2x4’s. That way the metal feet would screw in straight rather then having it overhang. Great project.

Does it HAVE to be 2" thick? The table will weigh a ton and we have to move it at least twice a year. I was thinking 1 inch. Thoughts?

Do not mount the legs to the 2x4's. Just get some 1"1/4 screws and mount them to the bottom of the table. Will be much more sturdy. Eventually they will mess those 2x4's up when you move it around.

How much weight will this leg configuration support? We are planning on making the base for a granite tabletop that measures 84"x28" or close to 300lbs. Do you think this length of table needs a middle support leg?

I hate to say but for 2X12 you got to use 2X6 not 2X4 and not pilot holes on the 2X4 (hole through the 2X4 to fasten two woods ),the way you made it after a month it'll shake as having earthquake, that 2X12 and 2X4 are surface dried.

cool table idea but you could have assembled pipe base easier and skipped needing two ppl. Why not assemble middle pipe and then screw in pipes, you made it complicated and awkward...ijs

When you go to HomeDepot, to the Lumber section, what wood should you be looking for to build these pieces? Framing lumber? What should you ask for? That will work just fine when building and also when staining it... Thanks.
@blakevette95799 жыл бұрын
how much did it cost? i had to spend $200!!
@Karaon8 жыл бұрын
+Blake Vette he said the boards are 6 bucks a piece, so i would say it would cost less than maybe 60 in total? Can't tell precisely. Also don't forget when you buy furniture or any other thing in particular that you pay for the TIIIIMMEEEEE to make this. And btw 200 is hell of a lot, check the less known businesses before buying or like in this video - do it yourself which is almost always the best option
@NoName019728 жыл бұрын
+Karaon It's not the wood that's the problem, the pipe can get pretty expensive. Just for an example, the 1" floor flanges are a little more than $7 each (Lowe's, $7.18) and 8 of them are needed. More than $56 just for the flanges. While I'm not sure it would add up to $200, I couldn't imagine it being much cheaper. My only thought to lower the cost would be to use 1/2" or 3/4" pipe, both of which could likely hold the weight of whatever it is the table is being built for.
@therealsnow8 жыл бұрын
I just priced this at my local Lowes, 1in flanges are about $12.50ea, so 8 of them like in this video would be around $100, it seems kind of ridiculous to me honestly.
@NoName019728 жыл бұрын
Black iron pipe is a bit cheaper than galvanized. The fun part is, you have to clean it before using it, the black coating gets all over everything.
