Great, so simple, love it. I'd take a bigger can that fit 2-3 candles, or an soda can alcohol stove. Or elevate the candle (place on top of an empty candle), to get more heat so i can boil water for pasta

I candle cook all the time. My electricity bills are really high even though all I use is a small fridge/freezer and charge my phone and iPad. I don't use any other electricity. I don't use a tin can though. I use anywhere from one to five tealights to cook something. I use one tealight to heat something up, and more to cook something. I make meatloaf, cook raw chicken that has been cut off the bone, soups from scratch, boil potatoes, make pizza, fry bacon and eggs, well, everything basically. I am very good at it. The cost of candles is a bit high too, but the tax is already paid. With the electricity, everything is taxed and taxed again and taxed again.... so tealights end up being way cheaper. I use a baking rack with a little higher legs and put it over the candles and the pot over top of the candles on the rack. In the beginning it made soot... but now it doesn't because I found the perfect height between the tealights and the pan.

you should make crisco candles. way cheaper than tealight candles.
@Bevity2 жыл бұрын
@@baranjan4172 I'm in Sweden. We don't have Crisco or anything like it here. We have cooking oil, butter and margerine. I was thinking of trying to make oil candles though, but right now tealights is all I have.
@baranjan41722 жыл бұрын
@@Bevity hi, get the cheapest vegetable oil you can get. Warm it up. Pour in a glass jar of suitable size. Dissolve a couple of tealights in it. Let it cool down till it is almost solid. Stick a birthday cake candle into the middle. Let it solidify completely. Light up and enjoy :-) Experiment to find the best ratio between oil and dissolved wax. It doesn't take much wax to hold the oil together and give you a cheap candle in a jar.

@@baranjan4172 Thanks so much! What a great idea! I would never have thought of that. The next time I go shopping I'm going to get the stuff and make them. Everything is expensive here, even birthday candles, oil is terribly expensive now, but I love to experiment.

I wouldn't use lighter fluid like that, as you can see the flame jumped out onto the cutting board with just that squirt. Too dangerous.

Start the candle early in the morning and by dinner time the following night your beans will be warmed..
@v31.484 жыл бұрын
What you could do is put a cover on the basket, or something else to seal it, and then you can even boil water with 1 candle. Watch out for the steam when you remove the cover.

The very tip of the candle's flame is the hottest part of the flame. If he had the pan close enough to the flame that only the flame tip was licking the bottom of the pan, it would be the ideal setup.
