A friend of mine asked me to try to make a tent style setup using a British Army Basha. I've never tried to do this with a basha, so i head on out and got cracking. Hope you enjoy!

I watched this for the tent. And finished watching it not only knowing how to set the tent up, but realizing I can use my walking poles as tent poles. Where has my brain been this whole time !!!

Happy days mate, keep going at these vids as i can already see an improvement over the course of two!!.. you'll be smashing them in no time! 😎👍.. your tarp tent set up is roughly the same as the Caps with a few minor alterations.. I'll throw up a vid on poor man's KZbin (IGTV) 😂.. in the next couple of weeks and we can compare notes! 😎.. good stuff though mate! .. nice touch sprinkling fairy dust on your patch at the start and end of the vid! 🤩.. Nice one mate I want to use this set up on Dartmoor one day I've made this once before down the allotment cos it was forecast to rain and theres no shelter down there. I managed to sit in my folding chair in there although it was very tight I've got a video on that😁👍

@mrfarty50174 жыл бұрын

@UnstoppableTramp5 жыл бұрын
It would be good for kids I reckon, just I would worry, the reason for using it I suppose would be to get out of that sweeping rain that changes directions all the time because of blustery wind. Yet being inside it when there was a lot of wind would make the sides touch you and therefore you would get kinda wet anyway. If there was a way of doing it without the poles then I think it is a winner. How big is the DPM basha? Maybe a DD Tarp 3 x 3 ?
@TheCheshireWanderer5 жыл бұрын
in the video somewhere i mention that if the branches above are stronger I'd use the pull out loops and remove the poles. Id sleep in the middle then and use my burgen as a cover for the door. Takes too long to mess about with in my opinion so i doubt I'd use it. It got me out for a few hours though.

That's a spot on video that bud the only bad thing I could say about this video is the sound quality is very bad I've had the same problem with my videos the sound quality is not very good so I've invested in a microphone hopefully that should solve the problem I would have give this video 10/10 I am only going to knock 2 points off for the sound i wish somebody would have commented on my video to tell me about the sound quality was crap lol

If there are trees around like here tie from loops on top of basha where trekking poles are instead, so you have more room inside due to no use of poles.
@TheCheshireWanderer3 жыл бұрын
I've done a more recent video where I spend the night in it with my dog and I used a loop above too. Have a look and see what you think.

Well played Mike that’s the set up! How did it feel? Comfortable enough to sleep in? Or was it too small? Thanks again man!
@TheCheshireWanderer5 жыл бұрын
Hi Ant, yeah you could stay in it but just as you do with the basha itd probably be best to string it up but i think it'd be hard to sting up without the poles first so you can build the tent easy then remove the poles if you get me? and I'd use my bad a a door if it was cold or you can leave it next to you.
@TheCheshireWanderer5 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure id use it though as it took a while to do. Unless i keep having a bash and getting it set up quick.
