Being a lineman, welder & heavy equipment operator those knots are very useful

Great Video! I kept bouncing around different hitches but putting two constrictors together is brilliant!

I like all your knot videos, and I think this one is widely useful.

Thanks for the video, was about to order squid tails ($10 for 6, not sold individual) to attach to a small wrench but this is perfect to put on my wrench. Saved money, Plus get to be crafty with my tools.

a double figure 8 hitch has more turns ... might be too bulky for this lanyard but might be useful where a very tight grip I's needed on a smooth item.. i us them to hold L shaped hex keys on power tools.. liked yhe eay you used a loop and toggle to vinch up the constrictor knots.. simultaneously to the same tension

a constrictor knot is just a clove hitch with the working end tucked under the original turn.. an other step up in security would be thte double constrictor knot... it has the diagonal or bar doubled

Awesome! Really, this is such a great tip!

Awesome video!! If you use poly rope you can cut the line even closer and when you use a lighter, melt it even longer till it bonds with the line next to it to make it even more permanent. Just like paracord bracelets.

Coulda used this when I worked on the outside top of wind turbines. Nice knot.

I don’t think people realize just how high those things are off the ground until they are up there.
@T-Mo_3 жыл бұрын
@@txtoolcrib yeah. 99% of ones I worked on were 270-300ft

I actually think I would enjoy working on them. Just windy as hell I would imagine.

O hell no.... and I was a roofer. Anything over 2 stories gives me the heebie jeebies.

If you have to climb something higher than a chair to reach your work, it is high enough to be bothersome to pick a tool on the floor. Also a tool dropped from a chair’s height is dangerous enough to injure people beneath.

That’s gonna make a beautiful necklace.

very useful info. i drilled a hole through my hammer just to put a lanyard. 😢

Isn't that a clove hitch your using. With a restrictor knot the working end goes over then under the standing end after making initial clove hitch, if I remember right....

Quite a compliment, thank you.

Sorry, but I wouldn't trust those knots not to relax a little over time potentially allowing them to slide off the smooth handle if the hammer were dropped...
