I love this so much! I would really love to make a skirt like this as an Alice in wonderland costume for an adult, and I was wondering if you thought it would work to cut the tube in half, (so you have two loops) then cutting both to make two long strips, then rejoining them to make the waist band of an adult skirt?

An easy tip is use a crochet hook to loop in the tulle in the small holes

I have the crocheted tube top but it is 9" and we should have actually had the 6" or head band length. Can I start the tulle higher up on the top or will it roll up? or can I cut it shorter?

Hi UniKme! Shirley didn't specify the exact # of yards she used for each color. But, she did have a 100 yard spool of each color to make sure she had enough. It is basically a matter of preference depending on how full you want the tutu. The fuller the tutu, the more tulle you will need. Hi Meryl! You sure can. Instead of the crochet by the yard for the top, you would just use an elastic for the waist. We have a couple of different tutorials that show you how to use an elastic waistband and a couple of different ways to tie the tulle onto the waistband.
