Demonstration of two-way data table feature in Excel. This kind of table is sometimes referred to as a two-variable data table. This tool is one of the most commonly used for sensitivity analysis or what if analysis. The table shows the effect of changing two input variables on a selected output variable.

I am getting the same value for all cells and I don`t know why. Calculation option is automatic and data format looks the same. Do you have any suggestions? Thanks

Usually this means some of the values have been hard coded in rather than using cell references. Sometimes it also happens if you don't select the entire table.

Hi Solver Table is a third party add-in for Excel, and if you need it, I am guessing you need for a college course. It's not a free download so I would ask your instructor how to get it (many times you get a trial with text books). Or try doing a search for Frontline Solver.

I have Excel 2007 with all the add-ins. When I use your example for the two dimension table, the results are $11,000 in all the cells. What am I doing wrong?

+Shawn McDonald My guess is that you have not connected the data table to the model. So in other words you have maybe typed $11,000 into the cell in the upper left corner of the table. This cell has to be based on a formula. So in my example the formula is =B22, the cell with Profit in it from the model

+Matt Macarty Thanks for responding Matt. I typed in the =B22 formula and go into the Data Table input window where "Row input equals $B$9 and Column input equals $B$10 and still get the same result.

I would check your other formulas to make that the result in B22 is the result of calculations too, and that it refers to B9 and B10.

I have a bunch of data that I'm supposed to compare. Married and unmarried vs occupation. Married is a 1 and unmarried is a 0. Occupation is numbers 1-6. At 1:44 what am i supposed to do? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
